I won't click that. And I wish this place had a rule against lame threads like this one (i.e people posting threads without giving any thoughts into them, "i like metalica, do u?")

Is it really that hard?

It's an advert, with a funny pun. No sexually explicit matrial or anything. Its one of those improve your skills ads.

I agree with you. I mean, god forbid someone post a funny video just for the sake of having fun. How dare they!? I mean, we all know that internet is SERIOUS BUISNESS.

Yes. Because, god forbid, spending a few extra seconds explaining what the video is about could kill you, right? It's not like I'm asking for a huge essay, just a bit of common sense.

In this video, a German Coast Guard member gets a call from an American Ship calling for help by saying "we are (th)sinking! we are (th)sinking!" but since german people have an accent, he replies, "what are you (th)sinking about?"

..I just messed up the point of watching the video.

Not so hard, was it? :P (you didn't have to explain the entire video though)

Sorry if I was a bit harsh, it's just that the sudden increasement of threads where the author goes "i like [insert object/artist/band/candy/soda here], do you?" (or when the author just copy/pastes a link and press 'submit') really irks me.

... Not that it matters what I think.

I'll watch it tomorrow!

It's just that it spoils the clip sometimes, when you explain it.

Writing in colour was fun while it lasted...

How about "funny clip making fun of german accents". That says what it's about without just rewriting the clip. Though the internet might not be serious, some peoples' time is still precious.

I like to think about writing or presenting things this way; how many people are in your audience and how much of their time are you taking up? Since perhaps 200 different people at least on tip.it are likely to read this thread, and spend 10 seconds on it each, that means you should be writing something that is worth 2,000 seconds of people's time. So spending 30 minutes writing a decent concise thread is not over the top in this respect.

If I wanted to listen to the rubbish that comes out of most people's mouths with no thought behind it, I'd go and start up a conversation in McDonalds.

For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns.
