Yes because it would be feasible to render 10,000+ spectators in the same detail as the couple of guys who your eyes will be fixed upon 90% of the time.

Those graphics are actually really good, I had the first and second smackdown games back when there were some better wrestlers.

I don't really like the Smackdown games that much. They are okay to play now and again, but when you get someone down you can easily keep doing really quick submissions on the floor to wear them down for ages without the fear of reversals. No Mercy on the N64 was by far the best wrestling game.

i was part of a huge community that edited Smackdown 2 (PS1) with those cheat carts. The best mod we had was putting ladders in a 'hell in a cell' match. 8)

Thats not true for the newer games. For instance, in Raw VS. Smackdown 2006, you can't submissions constantly even on the easiest setting. When you play on the hardest difficulty, its extremely difficult to even do 1 move without getting reversed unless they're worn down, but they still reverse a lot.

Unlike the quality of wrestling folk, which is steadily declining, the games get better and better.
