April 25, 200620 yr Hmm. Well wrong forum 1st of all... 2nd of all, a runescape screen shot isnt the best way to express your feelings:P http://jdpr.deviantart.com/
April 25, 200620 yr Author Armenia Genocide? Perhaps I've missed something...? in 1915, the ottoman empire conducted a mass execution against the armenian race. for nearly 9 decades, the turkish government has been denying the existence of such bloodshed. however, the world is gradually recognizing the genocide and today, i'm showing my tribute to this week in memorial (and last week too). also, i originally placed this in the gallery but it was moved to here.
April 25, 200620 yr Take out the picture and then just post the story in the Off-Topic forum, I am sure you will get responses there. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.
April 26, 200620 yr Um, the Ottoman officials didn't order a mass execution of Armenians. They deported them to Syria on a forced march and a lot died due to negligence on the part of the officers leading the march. I don't think the Ottoman emperor said, "Ooh, let's kill some Armenians!" They were an extreme nationalistic faction at the time, but the Turks didn't want to kill every last Armenian the way, say, Hitler did. The Armenian thing is not what I'd call a genocide. I'd call it poor planning. I'm with the Turks on this one. You can rename this topic "In Memory of the Turks' Neglect" and I'd find no offense at it. the russians are the best! Hands down!
April 26, 200620 yr I have never heard of the Armenian genocide, but if what KCHughes says happened, then it is like the Jewish holocaust in some ways. Jews were marched on death marches across Germany and Poland to Concentration camps to be murdered. Along he way, hundreds of thouands died due to the harsh conditions, and lack of humanity shown. Therefore, it sounds a little like the Armenin 'genocide'. Whilst it is not a direct genocide, the Ottoman officials clearly wanted rid of the Armenians, and it seems that they did not really care what happened to them, as long as they were gone. I don't know enough on this particular case to make further comment, but RIP all those who suffered and died. 99/99 Fletching, 99/99 Cooking, 96/99 Strength
April 27, 200620 yr the Armenian genocide is an off topic and does not need to be moved. That runescape picture only shows the guy's prayer for the armenians. That's all. Btw the guys, Turkey has done several massacres in the history that includes this Ottoman genocide that Rkc mentioned. thery are already several records of massacre since the fall of Constantinople that Turks have slain civilians in Anotalia that includes amernians back then. They always did that for a long time and kept that hate {that isn't uncommon in the Middle East area.} That's an old history event that brought back that conflict sevral times until now. {And all the political and national things that implies in it is also a different story to tell and another debate to talk about...} That's propably what you guys have missed first. -=Aznhuskarl=- Cleric-=20Cent=- JuggernaughtMore to come...
April 27, 200620 yr I'm armenian, thats why i read this. And yes it was a genocide they killed tons of armenians, not all of them died in a march. I'm also wondering why you chose to bring this up now. Its not like this is a current issue but I think its cool that I'm not the only one who knows about it. im level 76 and IM NOT A NOOB 30- is a noob
April 27, 200620 yr Don't know why you more country should recognise this, since it's only about Turkey itself who doesn't acknowledge it as a genocide. anyway, for more information on the issue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_genocide
April 27, 200620 yr Yet another reason why Turkey's not seen as a European nation. Does that logic explain how Germany is then? This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
April 27, 200620 yr Yet another reason why Turkey's not seen as a European nation. Does that logic explain how Germany is then? Well because Germany now fully accepts its wrongs from WW2 and the crimes of the Nazi's, Turkey does not - infact Im sure I heard on the BBC you can be arrested in Turkey for making claims about the genocide of the Armenians. Plus their continued human rights offences and particularly their treatment of the Kurds in Turkey. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
