The one for ps2 was horrible, you had to play so much to get coins and get characters.

Acclaim doesn't own the rights to Mortal Combat, Midway does. The games on that auction list are just the old Mortal Kombats (1 and 2), and it looks to me as if they are selling actual bulk amounts of games, not the liscenses to them.
