The bold part caught my eye as I re-read his post. Your idea sounds good, but like bigsword33 said "centered around your level". I think the idea of making it more respectable should go entirely with range period.

 

 

 

I'm not saying there shouldn't be better armor, but I am saying it should be fixed so all levels (ranging from mediocre to paladin) can enjoy it.

There's a problem with the agility part. If higher agility makes you hit more accurately with the bow then you need to have agility to count in your combat level. You could make agility only count if your range based combat wise or make agility part of every combat style.

i say 5. If its all 4 high lvs no new people will want to be ranger and it will die out.

I know a different reason of why not as many people PK with ranged. Who really wants to spend their time picking up all the arrows that are left on the ground. Scenario. You are chasing somebody in full rune. They seem to be heading South. You are firing a heavy string of arrows at them. Lets say they made to out of the wildy. You have to walk all the back from the direction that you came from, picking up all the arrows left behind. Who is going to pay alot for their arrows, and then just leavng them sitting around for some level 30 to find. In my opinion, nothing in the combat triangle needs to be fixed. There are many other things that need to be fixed, but they are just glossed over.

I think range already is very respectable. When pking with my friends, I always go as a ranger now, and I take the majority of the kills. Make no mistake, ranging is a deadly threat in the wilderness.

 

 

 

Many people don't look at anything but the maximum damage a combat skill can do and base their judgement on that alone. Range hits extremely fast with a shortbow, and this makes it devastating. I can only hit 16 with range, but 20 with a rune scimitar (no strength potion or prayer), yet due to the rapid rate of fire for ranging, I can do more damage with a bow.

 

 

 

The only thing that I would say is wrong with the pk triangle now (for members) is that magic has become overpowered with ancients. Rangers cannot kill mages when they are constantly being frozen by spells, giving the mage an easy escape. Perhaps if rangers were given some way to prevent mages from running away it would balance out the triangle again.

The last, about balsa, that's not quite right since balsa is very light and is very easy to break, because of the weight it would be useless to use as arrowshaft, it is used to make small motorised airplanes with :)

actually the only thing i font like about ranging now is the fact there is nothing to wear on your head, besides a coif, but that does like nothing...

 

 

 

mabey agility could be added to combat lvl, for p2p, because agility = faster attacks, but i doubt that will happen

the reason you dont see any pk vids is because most people who post vids on this forum are pures and not many pures these days use range

 

 

 

go look at some GOOD clans forums and you will see range is always carried
