Quick Find Code

Recommended Posts

Surprisingly, the RSO has gotten something to work faster and a little better than TIF. The forum quick-find code, however it is a little of a pain, cuts time down on trying to find a specific thread.

An example of the situation: Your freind PM's you on RS about how awesome a thread is on the TIF. Since your freind thinks so highly of it, you want to check it out too. But since the search button isnt the fastest thing in the world, he could just tell you the code for it, you'd pop over to the forums, put the code in, and bam, you're there.

I know that it doesnt seem important, but i'm impatient and I like to get things done fast... So, do whatever you guys do on this forum!

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=452047 - Thats the url for this post... so next time simply ask your friend for the number after the t= and you'll be able to get to the post... It doesn't seem all that hard? We could indeed put in a box where you enter the topic id, but it would be just as slow as doing it manually i think? Meh, just a simple way of solving your prolblem :)

1) theres already sdomething like that as Ks_Jeppe said.

2) that update would be a rip of runescapes forum update.

not necessarily , there actually is a phpbb mod that adds an input box and a "go" button so you can enter the topic_id and go right to it , and it was written long before runescape released their forums , but it just doesnt seem very useful , although if enough users wanted it , it could be done ..

I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theaters

I don't see the point in it.

If I thought the world of a topic and wanted people to check it out I give them the link to the topic.

And the search feature is perfectly fine :-?
