sweetdeal7777
Stats are att-str-def 40-45-1 currently Range-Prayer-Magic 6-13-6 First question... How high should I, if at all, get my range and mage? What should my strength lvl be before I begin pking? Should I stay with 13 prayer or get 31?
kwimbob
It's a good idea to get your mage as high as you possibly can without it pushing your combat forward. I suggest this because it is a fact that your magic level, along with your magic defence bonuses and defence level, makes up your overall magic defence. Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well. And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.[hide]YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.- See You, Space Cowboy.[/hide][/hide]
sweetdeal7777
Does this hold true for range as well?
antonwhy
yes, it counts for range as well. 40 ranged allows for you to wear green champs and vambraces as well as giving several more hp levels. U shouldnt really train prayer in f2p as it drains really quickly Wondering what to do with life .....
primadog
Pure, by definition, should not have any prayer level. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
Risen_The
I'd say train until 50 str. 40 Range might be good, but it'll get you hits exps as there is no cannoing in F2P. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=525348 - My Pking Gallery I'M BACK FOR SUMMER BABY
Doomster
If you can handle the tedium of curse casting (1 by 1), then it's a cheap, 0 HP way to raise mage, especially if you make all the runes, or buy the bodies (usually cheap) and make either earth or water and wield the opposite staff. Witch's Potion and Imp catcher will also give a magic boost. Reasons for raising mage: 1. Mage level helps defence against magic 2. Teleport, if you choose to 3. Alching drops 4. Can be done without raising HP (curses, weakens, tele, alch, enchant) Ranged level is useful for: (level 20) - change your iron legs for studded chaps, stronger all round defence and + rather than - in magic defence. (level 40) - Dragonhide (green) chaps and vambraces Members can use higher dragonhide pieces at levels 50, 60, 70 There is no direct benefit from ranged level itself, unless you are actually operating as a melee/range hybrid, unlike the magic defence effect of mage level. T0mmyB
I believe it all really depends on what your going for. My pure at the moment is Attack-40, Strength-50, Defence-1, Range-40, Magic-1, Hp-44 Combat 40. I like the approach of keeping melee as my main combat type and training range and mage for the extra hp levels. However of course if you want to keep a lower combat, train mage using spells like curse, as doomster said, as this will not give you hp exp. It also holds true that raising magic and range on the side increases your defence for each ability, and this is especially useful if your not gaining combat levels. I personally prefer the extra hp compensating with a few extra combat levels :) Also, if you are F2P i wouldn't be getting prayer; it's just not worth it at lower levels, especially without prayer pots and the like. Hope i helped a bit... N.3.R.D in RS
