This is in a way a rant, and also advice. I've noticed a plethora of annoying threads by people who are just begging for info on "how to make the best money". Well, I'm TIRED OF IT. So here's your stupid answer newbs (semi-positive connotation, perfectly legal)-

 

 

 

NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE can tell you the best way to make money for you. Obviously merchanting is the best cash, but for some people it is boring (sitting at the comp selling and buying pixels for hours upon hours a day, standing in one spot? How can someone not have anything better to do then that?), and some people, like me, just absolutely hate the smell of merchanters.

 

 

 

Personally I prefer Barrows, Dagganoth Kings, Metal Dragons, and occasional Fire Giants for cash. You know why? 'Cause I like to do them, I have the skills for them, and they're some of the few exciting things that exist in this game. I get bored with skills and other things, so thats what I do. Find something YOU like to do, and stick with it.

someone should make a sticky containing everyones money making ways

 

ie: wc yews, magics

 

mine coal at coal trucks

 

high alch yew longs (my way)

 

kill stuff that has good drops

 

runecraft nats

 

etc.

I like slaying, catching sharks and selling them and sometimes make yew longs and high alching them. :D

Well heres my little bit of adive for you:

 

Some people, like me, have tried various methods of trying to make money and it doesnt quite bring home the green stuff like other players can. So what else should we do? We don't know!

 

 

 

So dude, thats why we post stuff like that on the 'Help and Advice' section. Because people like me need Help and Advice and some of us aren't P2p or have good eneough combat levels to do barrows or stuff like that.

 

Thats might be a reason why Tip.it put a Help and Advice section on the forums, eh? I think so. To help other players in the hour of need.

You don't need to rant about it... There are many "underground" ways of making money that 99% of players do not know about. Chill.

I kind of agree with aj and reb. I was winding myself up for a bit of a rant about this myself, but it seems you beat me to it :)

 

 

 

What really annoys me isn't that they ask (although the manner in which they do suggests that there is some secret money tree that everyone else is holding out on them about) its the style of the threads:

Firstly, I don't believe they got their stuff nicked. It doesn't happen that often.

 

 

 

Secondly they never tell you their skills or whether they are p2p or f2p.

 

 

 

Thirdly they never search - in fact you barely even have to search as there is usually one of these at the top of the boards at all times anyway.

 

 

 

Fourthly they often whine about the fact that they can't make 400k per hour on a 200 skill total.

 

 

 

Fifthly they often don't thank anyone for their help (this extends to other posts too).

 

 

 

That my two pennies (cents) anyway

i had suggested a separate forum just for money making questions, either a subforum of help and advice or a section by itself. it would hepl people with other game related questions find their info easier, and it would help people that want money making info to find that stuff easier as well, and then there would be less new threads asking how to make money

In my experience, low skill totalers (600-1100) that are a high level, walk around in hundreds of millions, because they stood in 1 spot buying and selling. Doesn't get much more boring than that...

 

 

 

For those that think talking and mercantile takes skill...it really really doesn't. What takes skill, are the actual is game skills themselves.

I never said that you have to do Barrows for cash, I said that I like to do it, and its also a fairly decent way of making money in my experience which is a nice combo :) . If you don't like Barrows or can't do it yet then fine, don't. I'm not forcing you to do it.

 

 

 

Also in my experience, it doesn't seem to matter how good something is for cash, if you don't like it you'll get bored with it, and won't be very efficient. Some people like mining, some like woodcutting, some like Abyss crafting, its all about preference. And if you really need to know some basic ways of making cash, THE SEARCH BUTTON IS YOUR FRIEND. As stated before there are a million guides on the basics of making money.

Well, if someone told you would they be underground anymore? :P I don't really know any "underground" wasy of making money, unless I stumbled upon something thats not common knowledge already and didn't know it (unlikely but possible).

Well if your a noobie boobie member you can pick flax at seers village, spin it and sell each bowstring for 160each. Makes a good 30k easy
