I just killed count draynor. I had a glove of garlic with me, a hammer and the stake given to me by dr.Harlow. I killed that vampire, how much I still haven't finished the quest? I am puzzled!

Once you defeat Count Draynor, you are done with the quest.

 

 

 

From your post it sounds like you still haven't gotten the reward. Is this correct?

ok heres a checklist

 

1. Make sure the killing blow was with the stake

 

2. Talk to the guy you get the quest from

 

3. Maybe close the coffins or put garlic in them?

 

4. Repeat killing the vampire

 

5. If all else fails, scream at the monitor(just kidding)

and again, I just killed him. it was the last blow and he vanished and when I looked in the coffin he came out of it again. I don't get it, I have garlic in my inventory, I have a stake in my inventory and a hammer. the same hammer you use for smithing, that's good enough right? or do I need to wield the stake or something?

Just having the hammer, stake, and garlic in your inventory is good enough.

 

 

 

Look in your quest panel in-game, and see if it says you have finished the quest.

That's not what I had to do when I killed him. I just had the and stake in my inventory, and I automatically used it.

when i did the quest in rsc i had the stake eqipped cause it didnt work the first time.

You don't have to equip the stake. This seems a bit odd, I would say check the in game quest summary, see what it tells you to do. If you've done it all correctly send a customer support query - but double check everything first.

did check everything, I will attack him with a stake now. I thought that having it in my inventory was enough...

I think they made some changes to Vampire Slayer a while ago. That's probably why I'm confuzzled. :oops:

then perhaps the people here at tip.it should change the quest guide:P

when I want to attack the vampire i have to right click and then select attack. with a atsake I can do it right away. but I cant wield a stake...I am so confused right now...

Maybe to finish off the quest you have to talk to Morgan, other than that i can't think of anything else cause if you have finished the quest you shouldn't be able to fight Count Draynor again. :?

When I did it, as soon as I killed the vampire, I got the reward. Maybe with the update, you have to talk to somebody afterwards...

well, I killed that vampire 4 times today. I will describe whats happens: I have garlic, stake and hammer and fight the vamp. at the final hit he vanished, I think that he is killed and I go to morgan in draynor village to tell him that he is save. But then he says that the vampire stills lives blabla...it's really frustrating.

you should have finished the quest as soon as you killed him, that is very odd but I had to kill elvarg from the dragon slayer quest twice before i actually finished it, because he was already damaged when I first attacked him. Make sure first that count draynor hasen't been damaged yet before you actaully stake em'. its either that or its a bug or something

Off topic but one of my friends had a bug while doing dragon slayer and when he attacked the dragon he was teled to lumbridge, no loss of items, and got the message that dragon slayer was completed.

Have you tried the new QuestHelp System, perhaps that could tell you something.

When all else fails, scream at computer and punch screen. At least then the problem will be solved. :D

I've seen two Count Draynors there, if someone else is there ... maybe you killed the wrong one.

 

 

 

I've also found that the combat can end without doing the stake.

 

 

 

Success: The fight ends, and when you finish him off, you automatically use the stake and hammer, no need to switch equipment.

 

 

 

Take care not to touch the coffin again during the fight, that might raise a second Count, and you'd probably have to kill both of them.

well, I will use the help then. and I use the stake on the last blow, very weird. I only fight one count draynor, that's not it. I will try again and if that doesn't work then I will get the help.

I finally found the answer. this might be useful for the tip.it quest guide aswell(where can I report things like that). you need to have 2 hammers in your inventory, don't ask me why but that's what questhelp mentioned and when I killed the vampire using 2 hammers I finally killed him.
