how hard is it to get from teleport house into safe part at mage arena, without getting pked?

 

 

 

any tips?

 

 

 

why do they pk there anyway? who's going to carry anything good when there's a bank in the safe area, right?

 

 

 

I'm 78 mage and haven't done it yet. I'm kinda chicken about the wild

Go to a world with little people in it, and just run from the lever.

You need to pull a lever to get in and that's classed as a teleport.

 

So if they Teleblock you, say bye to your stuff...

of course, there is a bank in the arena and in ardy, so the best way to get there is go with NOTHING on, so you dont actually lose anything when you get pk'ed, they have everything to lose (runes used to teleblock, entangle and their dragon dagger specials.)

You can't exactly go there with nothing on since you need to slash some webs between the tele house and the also in the mage bank tele house. What most people don't know is that you can use a knife for this. It's a bit slower because you need to use the knife with the web, but even if they do get you you won't lose anything.

 

 

 

Another thing to get there safely is play on the hours when there's only 30k people online. These are mostly weekdays before the US wakes up and after they go to bed or sunday mornings before noon US time.

 

 

 

Oh and don't be ashamed of not having done the mage arena at your lvl, I'm 88 magic and still can't do god spells, although I did get the cape a while ago. I'm also a chicken when it comes to going into the wilderniss, but once you do it more often you get used to it. I do wilderniss clue coordinates without trouble now, it's a matter of knowing what to do, sort of an emergency plan. You start with 'oh I see a dot on my minimap, now what?', I never log immediately, he/she might be on a clue just like me. When it's more then 1 dot, log out. If the dot turns out to be a solo pker and attacks me I put on protect item and drop my spade and watch, so the 4 items I keep are my dds, clue, chart and sextant. If I'm not dead by then I try and spec the pker, which usually doesn't help, but sometimes they run (85 strength might be the cause of that too, with a little luck I can spec double 21 :o ).

in fact i am sure that one has more reason to be ashamed over not having done Ancient magicks than not being able to use god spells (not shameful at ll if you didnt do it, like i didnt, just making a point), the spells are so bloody powerful that the godspells seems too much hassle to get

Doing mag arena consists of 4 steps:

 

1. Getting there

 

2. Doing the minigame

 

3. Training the spell

 

4. Going home

 

 

 

step1 - not risky - as some of the people here suggested - take only dds,no need to use a knife since u wont loose ur dds if u die, switch to the least crowded world and run all the way there.if u die, try again. BTW, sometimes you can sneak in also in a crowded world when all the pkers are busy killing eachother.

 

step2 - not risky - complete it and get the cape

 

step3 - risky - u need to cast the god spell for 100 times - the path from the lever to the mag arena is quite short but still u can easly get pked. Your main concern is getting entangled/snared on the way there.

 

What to do -

 

1) take the exact amount of runes needed - 200 bloods and the others.

 

Dont take 2 much prayer pots - remember, u only need to cast the spell not to inflict damage (3 of 4 doses will be enough i think)

 

2) dont wear more then 4 items - remember u will loose the runes anyway if u die so it doesnt matter what u wear.

 

3) optional - Before going up there prepare the items in your bank for quick draw. Go up with nothing on and sniff the area,if nobody is there simply get back in take ur staff and run to the arena.

 

 

 

step 4- once done simply walk out ,at this point you got nothing to loose,so make ur way slowly to the lever and....

...so the pkers can only get you between bank and arena? or can they get you when you're doing the 100 spells?

 

 

 

... can you go to the bank during the 100 spells? would it be worthwhile to just take say 50 bloods and then bank? hate to give those blasted pkers 200 bloods!

 

 

 

... How strong are the battle mages? can you get away with just wearing some cheap robes for the 100 spells? Like, wear you mystic for kolodion but then change to cheap ones. or not wear anythin and just taking the runes?

1. yes they can pk you then

 

2. yes you can run back into the bank part and go back in again

 

3. protect from mage and you will be fine. I used mystic robes, didnt hurt too much after my prayer ran out. they hit max 20. i used lobsters.

Guys: DUH.

 

 

 

Use range armor to be protected better against magic. Since it doesn't matter really if you hit them or not, just cast the spell.
