hifiguy5
I have a question. I want to get a programming job pretty soon and I've been studying Java and C++, and I'm real interested in the RuneScape source code. I know it's impossible to decompile, and it's against the rules (and the law?) so one of my friends suggested I write to Jagex, ask them for the code, and set up an agreement that says I'll get into big-time trouble if I tell someone. Now it could on of two ways: A) They could send it to me, I could look at it, and everything would be fine. or B) They coud say "no," seeing as how even if I did tell, they would still have a hard time cleaning up the damage, which is what will probably happen. I mean, I wouldn't sell it or anything, but even if something did happen to it, Jagex just doesn't want to take the chance. What do you guys think? oblivion2006
Your best bet would be wait til your 18, move closer to England or the UK, whichtever place they are in, and then apply for a job. Even if you have no intentions of abusing it, do you really think they would hand over the key to a game worth millions?
Muntrue
i think.. no im 100% positive that they will not send you any code regarding the game. sorry but i mean.. no one will give anyone a code of something they make millions off
hifiguy5
Yeah, that's true. Jagex probably doesn't want to take the risk, even if I have no bad intentions. The best I can do is to try to reconstruct some of the code myself, and hope that's what it really looks like. Oh wll.

Bubsa
No chance in hell. I'm suspicious as to whether they are your true reasons as well. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

jjdevine
1. Of course they won't give it to you. 2. Don't get a programming job if you can avoid it, it's all going to India.
rm2k_champ
If you were really studying c++ and java you'd know by now that it's not impossible to decompile. It takes time and effort, mesing around with the hard to interprete source.
