It's choppy, and I don't think there's a way to change the size with animation.

I just created my own avvy, animated, Gif, and within the limits.

can staff get higher avvy and sig restrictions?

Well they could, but they don't as to set an example.

Even so, I doubt they'd want to use a first timer when they have plenty of other great options.

It's not bad for a first, but it's not amazing, and it doesn't look like it took much effort...

Copy, Paste, Type.

You don't need to do any merging at all.

Copy -> Paste in new layer -> Low opacity -> Duplicate -> >medium opacity -> Full opacity -> do some in reverse -> Copy -> Paste in new layer -> Etc.

You definitely need to read some tutorials and work on some still stuff before you go into animation. It's not bad for a first time but it needs some serious work. Take Goldwolflord's advice and check out some of the sites he left you. For the record, GIMP does have opacity for layers.

I could tell.

Go read some animation tuts, click those links by Gold and there will be some animation stuff, just have a read, and try again.

Theres almost no effort in what you did, just COPY>PASTE>NEW LAYER>COPY>PASTE>NEW.... just tooooooo simple.

Tutorials suck for those kinds of things, i suggest spending hours figuring out the program. (if you can comprehend it, that is...)

Yeh, I find that too, when I get a new program I just give mysefl an hour or two to play about with the controls and see what comes out...

But it seems this guy isn't prepared to think about that, as he can't even find layer opacity... :-s

The sig is very very good! I love it!

Despite being basic, I really like it... The use of colours... Very good.

Sigs cool but you used a tutorial. I used that one too when I first started out. Nice job following it though... :D
