Looters?

Featured Replies

Ok I am a member on runescape and while i am ping sometimes i see a lot of people calling other people looters what exactly is a looter?

I have an idea of what it is but im not sure if its right so anyway. I think it is when a player waits for a fight between two other players and he waits till one of them dies and then he wits until the items appear...is this true?

i would imagine so, otherwise there wouldnt be many people looting if that wasnt the case (monster drops will be looted before they become visable anyway...)

you are close, but when two people are fighting and one dies, the other has about a min to pick it up and they usually do.

im not 100% sure but i know one exampel of looting is when giant clan wars are happening people out of the clan will come on a low lvl char that can't be attacked and run around picking up any armor that is left. People dont pick up armor in clan wars because they often would rather have food so they leave it on the ground.

The context I most frequently hear it in is when a player waits around dangerous or new monsters for other players to die. ie when Dag Kings came out many people went down to the dungeon with nothing on, just so they could pick up good gear from those who died exploring the new area.

I don't see any reason the term shouldn't apply to pking situations described above and the like though.

I see some people looting in wilderness. Cause someone dies, and the person who killed the person who dies usually takes the good stuff and leaves the vials/pots/food and stuff on the ground. And a looter takes the left over stuff. Kind of like scavengers. Or in the animal kingdom, a vulture.
