June 21, 200620 yr Ack, i've been bitten by the virus monster, and my antivirus software can't kill it. So, i'm going to do a system restore. How do you do it? lol Please give a step-by-step on how to do it, so i cant mess up please lol Sodb ForumStop thinking. It's Runescape.
June 21, 200620 yr Can someone tell me how to search google please? Bear in mind sometimes viruses hide in system restore folder so you could roll back and still have it. Exactly what have you tried so far to remove it and do you know what its called? Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. June 21, 200620 yr Author I've used Adaware (anti-spyware stuff), and MacAfee (antivurus stuff), full scans on both only brought up a couple things, and it's still pretty bad... In regards to the virus, I know when it came into the system, so i'm going to go a week before it came into the system. Sodb ForumStop thinking. It's Runescape.
June 21, 200620 yr What is the name of the virus? How do you know you have one if all scans come up clean? What about a Hijackthis log (see sticky for details) Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. June 21, 200620 yr Author I dont know what the virus is called, but it slowwss my computer down alot (but I just stopped all the proceses of it which fixed that, it think the process name of it was afx or alfx or alx, something like that) and it makes tons of fake system messages, and makes some thater questionable popups appear when im not even on the internet Sodb ForumStop thinking. June 21, 200620 yr I think i had exactly the same problem, proper microsoft bubbles used to come up saying i had 4 viruses and stuff... Nonsense... I did a hijackthis clean, it worked, (well i thought it did) But i dident work, it never stoped the pop ups, some even naughty ones (You know what i mean!!) Did a system restore and it worked fine! GONE! P.s. did you have 2 icons like "Trouble shooter" and other stuff on your homepage that suddenly appeared? Merry Crimbo!Click on my signature to see my NEW blog! June 21, 200620 yr Are both programs you used updated? If not, do it now. Also try Spybot Search and Destroy that may pick up stuff that Ad-aware missed.
