As someone who started at 70 mining and is going for 85, I would suggest setting aside a certain amount of time per day to mine. You never know when unexpected competition for the ore can come up. Generally, you're going to have to mine for hours everyday if you want to be to 85 quickly. Even if you go like 4 hours per day, it will probably take 3 weeks to a month to get there.

 

 

 

Also, if you're P2P, don't go for iron. There is a much faster method available. If you're F2P, however, start powermining as soon as possible.

someone said 15 days, so presumably he means 12 hour days or something. I went from 72 to 85 in about 2 months. Didn't mine all the time, as I needed breaks due to the extreme boredom of mining 3, dropping 3, repeat 20000 times. I mined about 50k iron in the end, dropping it all. Also did a load of coal in the guild, superheating mith and addy as i mined. The best F2P spot for powermining iron is alkarid mine, you can mine 3 rocks without moving. drop before respawn and repeat. If you mine all the time you could get there in a month like I planned on doing, but you might take it slower as its really really really boring.

many people are getting 85 mining, by the time you get it, i fear you might have wasted your time because, so many people mine runite like mad, and dont even get me started on respawn time.

 

 

 

however if you want it real bad, then its ur choice,

I powermined around 1.3k - 1.4k iron per hour, I did it my special way.

 

 

 

Rune takes average of 20 - 60 seconds to mine one ore. I would know because *points at sig*.

Hmm... I don't understand the purpose of Power Mining at all. I'd say just go with the flow and let your levels come as they come and make a profit while gaining levels instead of wasting two months of your life on some stats. Play leisurely and eventually you'll get to your desired stats. If you quit before then, wouldn't you be glad that you didn't spend all that time mining? :wink:

Agreed. I just hit 90 mining about 1 minute ago (haha woot) and going from 88-90, i just mined iron ore banking most of it (east varrok). My last 100k exp however i simply power mined it, since i had already obtained the 20k iron i needed.

 

 

 

anyways, moral of the story is to not think about how far it is, just to set small goals. for example, instead of thinkng, i want 85 mining, think "i want to mine 2k iron today, or in the next few days, whatever" rinse and repeat, you will be there in no time.
