Prayer--the inexpensive way?

Hey, guys. Right now, I have 32 prayer, and as I was looking over some quest recommendations, 43 appears to be the acceptable level. Is there any way to quickly and cheaply level prayer to 43 (I'm P2P but dead broke)?

 

 

 

Also, I'm a little confused about the Ectofunctus. Is it some machine that gives you 4 times the exp? I've done Priest in Peril and read the prayer guide here but I'm still a little confused. Any help would be great. :D

Ectofunctus isn't a machine. It's a way of getting 4 times the prayer xp out of a bone. You take the bone upstairs and a grind it and fill a pot with the ground bones. Then go all the way downstairs and use a bucket on the pool of slime to get.... umm... a bucket of slime. Then go back to the ground floor and worship the ectofunctus thereby using ur bucket of slime and pot of ground bones and getting 4 times the xp you would from that bone. You need a ghostspeak amulet so you can collect your ectotokens whenever it gets full.

 

 

 

Cheap way? Kill stuff urself and get the bones.

it is a process commonly called ectoing. You need 9 buckets and 9 pots and 9 bones of choice to do this time effently.u plan on using. the ecto tower is just north of Port Playsmus(?) or better known as ghost harbor. u are going to need a ghost speak amulet as well. You take the bones u plan to use with the buckets and pots and go to the top floor(1 above ground lvl) use the bones on the bone grinder. wind it and get the ground bones on the other side of the machine. repeat 8 more times so all your pots are filled with ground bones. then head to the bottom floor(3 lvls below ground lvl) and use your buckets on the ecto slime. then go back up to ground lvl and pray at the ecto alter in the middle of the room 9 times. then talk to one of the ghost diciplines. they will give you ecto tokens. keep the ecto tokens in the top corner so all 28 spaces are full. just head south of the tower, enter the town at the price of 2 ecto tokens(if u havn't completed ghosts ahoy) yea south east to find the bank. Repeat.

 

 

 

But if u really want to get good ranged exp, and prayer exp better then dragon bones at a cost less then dragon bones. I suggest taking up zorge ranging. Just complete zorge flesh eaters to find out how it works. Collect the bones from the coffins and ecto them. 580xp per bone from the top type of bone(ourg)

Kill dragons, they have the 2nd best exp of bones in the game that's dropped by monsters. (Ogre bones are NOT dropped bones, they are in chests so that won't count) Blue dragons ain't so deadly, but don't waste your time going all the way to Ect. just to get EXP. But I believe if you have finished Ghosts Ahoy there is a bank there you can unnote your bones. :mrgreen:

Just take effort in training against baby blue drags.. When I first became a member I was level 44 prayer. In 2 days I was 50 prayer with 81 combat, when I was 77 combat when I started :)

go to the graveyard or wahtever with the skeletons in lvl 25 wild

 

above varrock

 

there are lots ofregular and big bone respawns ther

 

there are 3 inparticular there that respawn to make triangle

 

took me 5 days to go from 2 pray to lvl 43 there

But just about all the advice here is valid. It depends on what you want to do and what risks you want to run. Let's go through them and evaluate!

 

 

 

Pest Control: Very fun, very fast, you can level up your other combat skills here and get some cash along with it. If you want to get experience really, really, really fast, this might not be your best bet especially because of your low level (then your experience from Pest Control wont be that high).

 

 

 

Ectoing: Takes time and takes bones. I personally have never really had fun doing ectoing, but it does give grand experience.

 

 

 

Using Someone Elses House: Sometimes people will have an open house and have a chapel with a very high bonus for xp. Sometimes there are even groups of people doing it at the same time, but still require bones in advance as well as marrentils

 

 

 

Killing Monsters: I'd take this route as I enjoy leveling my skills and earning a reward for it. If you went with giants you'd get decent prayer experience with little risk to yourself. I would go with Dragons because I can always craft their hides(greens at most, but one day... one day) and their Dragon Bones are tremendous! Plus with this you can save up for the Ectofunctus or your friends home.

 

 

 

Zogres: This is the last one I can think of. This gives a good chance for you to level up your fletching and your Ranged because you'll need specialty arrows that very few people sell. But the bones give great experience and when combined with the ectofunctus you'll be rolling in prayer points in no time. Be sure to read the Zogre quest guides for more info on them though.
