When you are not going to be playing for long periods of time, put the valuable stuff you are carrying in your bank and have a bank pin! Also keep recovery questions. Keep everything secret and you should be fine.

This is all self explanatory stuff, if you don't do this already, you are dumb.

No, actually, the best way to avoid being hacked is to make a password that's a jumble of numbers and letters, and (obviously) you don't give your password out to anyone! Not even your dog. You may never know.

My friend down the street has a dog that is capable of hacking into computers, the dog can also talk.

My friend also has an evil baby content on killing his mother.

My friend also has a son that is fat and can draw.

My friend has a daughter who is obsessed with being popular.

I have nothing bad to say about my friend's wife.

^^ Family Guy FTW!!!

Anywhoo, I think it is unneccessary to put items in your bank. If you have a good password and a recently updated anti-virsus software, you should be fine.

The best way to keep your account safe is to follow the following information:

1. Do NOT tell other players personal information.

Don't tell ANYONE your password ever!

Don't tell others your password recovery-questions

Don't tell others your real name, email, ICQ number, credit-card details, etc...

2. Think before using your password.

Never enter your password or recovery-questions into ANY website other than runescape.com or runescape.co.uk.

You should NOT use the same password at every website you visit, this is very dangerous! Your RuneScape password should be different to all your other passwords, and ONLY used for RuneScape.

When entering your password make sure nobody is standing behind you watching you type it in! You wouldn't believe how often this happens! Please be careful.

* For more information, just go to http://www.runescape.com - Safety & Security Guidelines - security information. You can read everything there to protect your account and keep it safe.
