Starting up some Barrow runs!!!

I've decided to start doing some barrow runs as they appear to be tons of fun.

 

 

 

I have access to full rune, a dragon baxe, amulets (glory and down), tons of lobbies, full green dragonhide, magic short, mith (and down) arrows.

 

 

 

If I need anything else I'm alotting a 500k budget, my skills are in the siggy, any and all advice is desired :).

 

 

 

Looking for equipment set advice and battle plan advice, strategy on which guys to kill when, and which guys to skip, what a run should look like etc.

At barrows there are 4 melee brothers, 1 mage and 1 ranger.

 

 

 

- It is better to range the mage, but you will need better arrows than just mith. Don't worry about dhides, as your range level is quite slow, you'll need to pray protect from mage.

 

- The ranger could be killed using magic or melee, your choice. Always pray protect when fighing him!

 

- As for the melee brothers, mage them. Just use the best spell you can cast, too bad you don't have level 55 slayer to cast slayer dart (efficient in terms of runes used). Your defence is quite low, so pray protect when fighting them (recomended anyway).

 

You'll need to melee some monsters in the tunnels, you'll be alright in full rune and with a d b-axe.

 

 

 

Please check the barrows guide on the main site. It is VERY GOOD! But most important of all is: bring prayer potions, you'll need them. My guess you'll use like 10-12 doses per trip.

get at least addy arrows, and a hell of alot pray pots and runes!! (and not like fire strike, but more slayer dart, fire blast)

If you cant use Slayer Dart, Fire blast is a complete waste of unnecessary money. Because it only deals 1 more damage over Fire Bolt with Chaos Gauntlets, and it doesnt kill all that much faster either, so stick to Fire Bolts if you cant use Slayer Dart.

 

 

 

If you are not using full Verac's, you can forget about Meleeing ANYTHING except getting your Kill Count up. Mage is the most effective way to kill the barrow brothers, INCLUDING the ranger, because his magic def is still useless with all his gear. He might be a LITTLE harder to hit, but you will still own him.

I know the chaos gaunts work because i used when i didnt have 55 slayer way back when con wasnt out :P

 

 

 

Edit: here are some advice stats for you that would help you save your money:

 

 

 

1. Get your ranged up, 60 at least, but 70 to be ideal so you can use the best ranger top and bottom, so you dont HAVE to pray Ahrim 100%. At my stats, I use all my leftover prayer on ahrim, and i dont refill it. Makes runs cheaper.

 

 

 

2. Get your Mage up to about 70 if you can, this will allow you to cast on the brothers with less fails, this will also save p pots and runes. If you decide to get 55 slayer however, 70 mage is MINIMUM you should get, 80 to be good, because Slayer Dart's damage increases with Mage level (it's 10 + {Mage Level / 10}, where the number in the brackets are rounded down)

 

 

 

3. Get your defence to lv 70, so you can wear Torag's Armor, this way you can avoind praying on Guthan and Torag, saves you more P pots.

 

 

 

4. Finally, if your tunnel brother is a melee one (Dharok, Verac, Guthan or Torag), then go to my guide in my siggy, saves even more p pots.

I love them, I really do. I can't see camelot teleing for exp, and not a fan of alcing. I think they're great...cmon..1 less damage compared to the MUCH more expensive death rune using version...

 

 

 

That aside, barrows..I find mage the whole way, though I do prefer meleeing the archer personally. And yes, lord knows bring a healthy amount of prayerpots. Wear a ring of life, not a weath.

so what I'm hearing is prayer pots, chaos gauntlets, fire bolt, bring melee for non-brothers, and also try to get 70 ranged to wear better ranged so I can not use prayer when fighting the magic brother.
