I have a way of making 1=2 using algebra

 

 

 

 

 

 

I got bored when my parents blocked runescape so I started to...*shudder* do math

if "a=b"

 

and if you solve for "a=1"

 

then when you divide both sides by "b-a" you are actually dividing both sides by 0 and you aren't allowed to do that.

It was to get it back to a= something + something :oops: I just did it to see if I could prove the impossible

"b-a" is zero

 

 

 

 

 

so "ab-a^2" is divided by zero. and my calculator can't devide things by zero.

Is this a parody of 1 = .999 or what?

Okay, I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. I was wrong, I did not think this post through enough before posting it. If it makes you feel better I'll get it deleted. :)

Can everyone stop making these dam posts which are made to try and boast the intelligence of the poster. 'I got bored so I worked out the meaning of life'. It doesnt wash. Yes I may not be as clever as you but I would never want to be working out maths equations in my spare time ffs.
