Guest idpup
Not that anyone needs my two cents... I totally agree that there is no Need for a private board. The people that want to help each other can do that now, if you want it as an elite clan to keep others out...why bother, thats not in the spirit of the media board (also from what i read the ones wanting in are the newer folks which would not be qualified to enter an "elite" board). I have never called myself a Good Sigmaker, I make sigs according to what people ask for and I try to do my best. The important thing to me is how I treat other people which is with respect. That is how I run my sig sales. If I promise a sig it will be delivered, if a person has a problem with it, I will go back and work on it until they are happy. The original idea behind the guild as tttia stated was to inorporate professionalism it had nothing to do with skill, as part of the idea was to help newer sig makers by teaching them and helping them out. People on the joining had various ideas, unfortunately most felt this was a way to make an elite group with only the best sig makers... It is true that the original group was comprised of what would be considered at the time to be the better sig makers, however this was not done based on skill, it was done based on responsibility, how they behaved on the board, how well respected they were etc. While I stepped down since i did not agree with the way the board was headed, I was not removed from the board list and checked it silently on occassion to see if it was getting any better. From my observation it was not improving, it was becoming more and more elite and what seemed friend or contact based (if it was or wasnt does not really matter, just my opinion). What I did notice which is what RaenonD and all of you guys that want to start this should be aware of, is that the media board slowed down. The media board became boring, the only things on there were the real new posters, they were not getting helpful (or not many) critiques and it became a graveyard compared to what it used to be. The sig makers (elite) mainly posted on their board, but got bored with that and moved onto other things. It seems to me that the media board cannot strive with just newer folks, or the elite, it needs a healthy mixture of both and to split the groups would take away from the happy, fun, interesting, challenging place most of the people here would call for a lack of better term "home". Whatever happens, good luck to all those involved :) IDPUP
Keiphus
Actually that was a pretty brief history by tttia... I'm sure any of us could probably turn that into a 5 page essay... Haha.. You have a good point there PUP, something I noticed but never realized I had noticed... Now that you mention it, it does make alot of sense... Hmm... well rumors are going around, I guess we'll see what happens. I actually think it would be cool, if run correctly. Personally I thought that it was fine when Huang did it.. He did an excellent job. Then when tttia took over, it was just a friendship thing, so there wasn't any politics involved, and that worked out well too. I think if it comes back it can actually do good, if we use it for the right purposes. (IE - to expand media to more people and get more people to buy sigs and whatnot)
