Featured Replies

I've been using terragen recently but a problems occurs. When I make a landscape, it always comes blurry. Anyone could help me ?

Right underneath the preview window, slide the quality bar up to max

I'll try that. I'll edit this post with the result.

Edit : Yay, it works. Thanks. It takes a lot of time to load though. Does it really affect the filesize ?

Heres a quick example.

Mid(default) quality:

The file size diference is small, only 484 bytes at this size

I just did a picture and it is 900ko. It's way too huge. That's what happens when I save it as a good quality. Any way to make it so it has a normal filesize.

Well, Terragen saves as bmp only. So what you do is open it in Photoshop and then save as a jpeg

Dang, I don't have photoshop. In paint it gets all messy when I save it in a trading format. Any solution ?

I did and it has expired. Bah, thanks for the help. I'll try to buy photoshop soon.

Maybe download a trial of PaintShopPro? I'm not sure if they have one though.

Or download the GIMP. Its a free graphics program. I assume you can save good quality jpeg's with it

Yeah, it's quite good for landscapes but Bryce is better. In terragen, you can't make trees and it takes hours to render. You also can not put as much details. And you can only save the file as .bmp so you need a graphic program.

Terragen is free, and at only 2.6 or so mb its not a very long download :) You can register for more options, but you don't really need to.

btw Vlad, it it free, but you can buy it and you get a lot better Features and the such with it :D

One of them is that you can render images larger than 1280x960. Free version Terragen is good for the majority of users though
