Rcty
I don't know if everyone would agree with me on this, but I honestly think that instead of a "Help and Advice" Board, there should be a "Help" Board and an "Advice" Board. I'm not just going to leave it at that, of course, but I will back it up with some reasons: 1. Help and advice are two pretty different things. 2. Some people need in-game help fast, whereas other people aren't looking at their needs due to other "What to do with 8M?" threads. 3. I am sick of seeing threads about what do with money! They're practically bragging! My Examples Help Threads "Where is the Make-Over Mage?" "How often does a dchain drop from the KQ?" "What level is the KBD?" Advice Threads "What to do with 5M?" "Am I good enough to do Barrows?" (I know, but you're giving tips on what you should do to it.) "How should I train for level 80 to 94 mage?" Not sure if my point will settle, but I just thought I'd bring it up. Rcty
Loge_05
Those types of topics are few and far between. Most of the topics asking for money advice are genuine and if the author did brag then it would do him/her more damage than good as few will reply with a decent idea. As for adding another Sticky: users don't read the current Stickies, so adding another one wouldn't make a difference. Offline and unavailable. pokemama
Be advised that this post contains my own opinions, and does not represent Tip.It. As for adding another Sticky: users don't read the current Stickies, so adding another one wouldn't make a difference. ROFL! Unfortunately, some users don't. And since the forum has included both for a long time, it would take a long time to train people to use a separate forum. I have to say that I agree with Rcty - I like to help people with quests, but when someone comes into a forum where people are asking about Prince Ali rescue, and wants to know what they should do with 100M (I've really seen threads like this), it's just ... well, it does get annoying. Some fansites have separate "quest help", "rate me" and "training advice" forums (and I haven't looked here, to be honest, so I don't know if Tip.It has the latter two). The recent separation of Blogs into their own forum was a really good idea, though I'm not sure it's unclogged the P2P forum much ;). Anyways, I'm only a lowly Crewbie and work the website, so I don't have any authority in this matter. I'm just throwing in my two cents, and my opinions are my own and do not represent Tip.It. The Forum Staff will evaluate your suggestion. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Adam007
Eh, a question is a question, and do you really think the peopel asking questions will even analyze what they're asking is a general question or for advice? Plus advice is often people making threads to help people - not so much people asking advice on certain things. Overall I just don't think it's needed - we already have one board for asking questions. Those questions might be annoying, but I think it's better how it is now than making extra boards. Thank you very much for taking my idea into consideration. =) I really didn't know if this would go anywhere, but apparently it got a little bit of a lift-off. I also like this because it proves that Tip.It really looks out for good suggestions on their forums. :) Thanks! Rcty
Albosky
It does sound like it could be a good idea , but theres one major flaw to it , people usually dont post thier help or advice topics in that forum, they post them in general and general p2p and use the lame excuse "nobody goes to H&A, so i get quicker replies here", then the mods spend way too much time moving them all. That excuse holds absolutely no water with me as most of the replies to the questions in those 2 forums are annoyed users TELLING THEM TO POST IN H&A..... When people start posting their questions properly , it would THEN make sense to split them into catagories. I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear

Loge_05
My problem with it is that the distinction between the two forums will be hard to implement. New users - since they use the forum most - may find it difficult to understand the difference between the two. If someone is looking for advice but posts it in the help section, will we turn them away and ignore their topic? If yes, then it defeats the purpose of the forum. If no, then the difficult job the Mods do moving topics will be multiplied. The H & A Forum should be made more user-friendly - I don't see this as the way to do it. Offline and unavailable.
