bookrhino Posted July 20, 2006 Share Posted July 20, 2006 When the mini-game came out, many people dismissed it was a waste of time. However, when I tried it out, I got this after a little bit. That's 66.6k for about 3 minutes of mini-game playing. Also, looking at the tip.it guide, I can get 70 unids from it. So, I ask you, have we been wrong about this mini-game all of this time? I don't think that it will catch on since it is boring, tedious, and a lot of walking. There are better ways to make cash and better ways to train combat. Getting enough of those snake hides for a full set of the "cool" snakeskin is a nice challenge though. tefda Posted July 20, 2006 Share Posted July 20, 2006 But if you think about it, 666 Pure Essence is actually Free for about half an hour work and I'll bet that it's an overall value and you fall into a range of values and then get a random item to reach that value. Also the fact that if you're going to be doing this mini-game alot it requires a lot of equipment which can be gotten fairly easily but is a hassle to prepare for the game (Getting Protection and food for the NPC, getting the Rod, etc) I think It'd be fun only if you were well prepared beforehand and it wasn't just a whim of an idea to go do it. I'd probably go do it if we could take a group of people with us! That'd be great, have a bunch of friends escorting the person out, facing the dangers of Mortanyia together, matching steel and magic against etheral monstrosities and the undieing flesh of the Vampires! Going with a group would be fun but doing it alone is less intriguing. I'll eventually play the mini-game and decide for myself whether or not I deem it worthy to spend my time on, but for now I'll cast it aside for known rewards of the Shades of Mor'Ton. The rewards aren't HORRIBLE and even if it cost you loads the whole point of a game is fun. This is sort of like pc except that you gain much less xp but probably make a little more gp (also more risky obviously). For some reason the people in town never mentioned anything at all about wanting to go to the salve temple or wanting me to lead them anywhere. Was quite lame. Golvellius Posted July 20, 2006 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Still horrible. I gave it a go again when defenders came out. Still cant hit them vampires using my supped up staff or guthix scythe. Nothing fun about that or when the shades gang up on ur person and its goodbye for them. Rewards are totally random and most are useless. I get like 500 xp from a tomb for firemaking. In 3 mins I could have like 5k from burning maples. Or I get like 18 raw lobbies... :roll: Its like god please give me lots of pure ess. And then disappointment...
