supernovasigst7.jpg

20% profit:

Buy coal 200ea, iron 100ea, smelt them into steel bars and sell 600ea.

I'm only lvl 33, but a method that got me there qickly was to mine a whole ton of ores, like 500 iron and 1K coal for steel, and then just smelt and smith.

no coz that only gives bars, i wanna know wat to turn bars into which will ultimately give me profit, and also give me most exp for each bar used

supernovasigst7.jpg

i reccomend making them into cannonballs then selling then buying back stuff.....it's really and easy process :wall:

great, so now all i need to know is a.) how much are steel bars each? and b.) how much do cannoballs sell for each?

although slow at that... I recommend Irons, they are the second best smithing xp per ore (if you smith the bars as well), the best one being gold ore on Goldsmith Gauntlets (although you are throwing money away if you do that).

Make Iron Throwing knives and sell them around 40ea

how much is iron ore?

supernovasigst7.jpg

1. Iron ore goes for about 100ea

2. Every bar you smith gives exactly the same xp. For example if you smith a platemail (using 5 bars) you will get 5x the xp you would have got from smithing a set of throuwing knives (1 bar). The only exception is cannonballs wich actually give less xp per bar (25.6 instead of 37.5). Cannonballs are also slow to smith although they give better overall profits than other steel items.

ok, so how many iron knifes per bar? coz if an ore is 100 each, and i use the ring of forging (56 uses isnt it?), and the knifes sell fer 40 each.... i cud potenitally make a load of profit correct?

supernovasigst7.jpg

ROF has 140 uses (5 full loads of ore).

You get five knives per bar so buying ore at 100ea would give you a profit of 100 per bar if you can sell at 40ea. So every ROF would give you a profit of 14k less whatever you pay for the rings.

I don't know how easy it is to sell the knives though

100% success rate when smelting iron ores. 140 uses.

Ores = 100ea

Knives per bar = 5

Price of knives = 40ea

Per bar: 100gp + 37.5xp

It's not ALOAD of profit, it is slow and tedious smelting all those bars.

I bought aload of iron bars for 200ea and smithed darts (10 per bar) and sold for 38ea. This gave me a slight profit, but I won't do it again as I had to fletch 30k of them

Buyin bars for 200ea smithing knives and selling them for 40ea means that you break even.
