Mollerz Posted August 12, 2006 Share Posted August 12, 2006 Well, I was flicking through this forum and thought, hey, why don't I make myself a pixel avatar! :D I mean, I have always wanted one but no-one would do it. So I thought I would give it a go. I started shading it and merging the colours for effect. Here is the end result! :arrow: It looks like a mirror!!! As this is my first try, please don't flame me but give me CC. Remember, this is only a practice so I will make more in the future! :thumbsup: And here is my second! I am always doing night, seeing as I am better at it, so I tried a daytime avatar, let's just say I won't be doing many of them for a long time... #-o Well, I am asking for CC for BOTH of them now but don't flame please :XD: Click my signature for my blog! Define the lighter areas first then place the darker ones in, from there you work on making the smooth transitions between the colors. For shading you could: Use few colors with big differnces in the shade and dither them together. or Use many colors that are very close and just place them next to eathother so it makes a smooth transition. Also your waterfall has an input but where is its output, where does it go after it hits the ground? I got nothing for the water, im no good at water. Mollerz Posted August 12, 2006 Author Share Posted August 12, 2006 The water with no output was done on purpose, it had nowhere to go so I left it like that. :wall: The shading, thanks for the input put I did try both of them, the grass was done with dithering and the sky was done with the smooth close colours.
