ShaneOneill1
Around the forums, you see lots of messages saying about searching before posting. But for some reason, when I type in 'RuneScape' or 'Money' or a lot of words, it never comes up with any and just says 'No topics or posts met your search criteria' I'm sure theres at least one thread with the word RuneScape in it. I was just curios to why this is happening. I've fiddled around with the settings to try to get it working. Is it just me lol? Many Thanks! Vape
It won't search for extremely common words or very short words, because they appear to often and aren't of value in search results. Where the bloody hell are you?
Suox
When you do a very big search. It will often come up with very little or no results at all. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s best to keep your search to one word. Also I believe there is a option to search the posts as well as just the title. 99 Woodcutting goal: Complete! :D

Actually , if you search for multiple words and dont select "search for ALL terms" then you are basically destroying your own results :P Single word searchs are far less accurate and will hardly ever find exactly what you are looking for :P I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear
StephenT0
I have the same problem. It's not that, the whole search engine is messed up and won't retrieve anything. Even if I search by author it won't come up with anything. It's been like this for a while now... If I searched for aything no matter what it is, it always comes up blank. pokemama
I must say that I agree with the other posters. I haven't been able to use the search function for at least a week. ALL my searches come back with no results, even if I've just LOOKED at the specific post that contains the unusual (and long) word I'm searching. Please PM me if you need more details or examples. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Albosky
Even if I search by author it won't come up with anything. It's been like this for a while now... If thats the case , then somethings wrong on your end. Author searches dont rely on keywords at all , or the author you are looking for has no posts that still exists on this forum , author searches search the actual post table(specifically the "poster_id" field) in the database as opposed to the words database . *searching your name just returned 101 results I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear
Eeeeediot
Searching fo authors works fine for me, its the key word search that is annoyingly not up to scratch. Searching for 'combat' or 'combat AND calc' returns zero results :?
Ks_Jeppe
As said before, this is more a fault with the phpbb software, not this site in particular... so yea, hopefully it'll get better in phpbb 3 whenever that comes out :)
Albosky
Just for the hell of it , I'll run the script to scan and rebuild the search tables dont expect instant results , it takes many many days for a script to filter over a million posts.
