Guest XplsvBam
Do you think first impressions last? I really don't think they do people are going to think what they want irrelevent of how bad of a hair day you are having.
deloriagod
I think first impressions only last a while.. When I got into middle school I started to see the goth/emo thing and that's how I started to remember those people until I got to know them and put the stereotype aside. katha610
it will last for a while. a lot is based on the first impression. thats how i figure out how to treat that person, should i use formal language or not and so on. ill keep that impression of the person if it was the right one, if not: change it
ctp080188
I believe first impressions count for a lot. Humans are quick to judge, and I know I am guilty of not making effort with people who have not come accross well upon first encounters. However, once speaking to most people one on one you come to realise they aren't exactly how you expected them to be. Upon a second chance actually speak to the person, my views normally completely change. In most cases anyway... SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
caligula101
My first impressions 99% of the time are wrong. I'll see someone and think "hmm don't like the look of them" and end up being best friends with the person, why? I have no idea
Oy_the_Great
They always do. Probably the way you look is the least remaining one, but the way people think of you will always stay and only change a little, unless you were a complete different person the first time you met. If I go to a girl and ask her out without knowing her, it'll ruin my reputation with her (if she has a bit of common sense). So, even though I might actually be a very nice guy, she'll always think of me as a jerk, except if she really gets to know me well, by living together for example. Just staying in touch won't do. Another good example: the first time you meet a group of people you're unfamiliar with, like colleagues or the friends/family of your girl- or boyfriend, you can either leave a smashing impression or completely lose face. Bubsa
They count for an awful lot...until you get to know the person. We all have these impressions and there's nothing really wrong with it, unless you deny yourself the oppurtunity to get to know that person because of the impression. Then you're just living a life of ignorance. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Scruffy5389
I don't think that your first five minutes knowing someone will make too much of an impression. The first week or two, however, are very important. They establish the way someone knows you, and in what context. They will always remember who you were when they first met you. Lionheart_0
The only lasting first impression i ever think of, is the voice and tone of the perosn i meet for the first time. I generaly can tell if i can get along with a person or not by their voice and tone. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Mr_Putter
I don't know about you guys, but when talking to people, everything counts. I could get along with someone for years, and a seemingly minor thing might change my whole conception of them (or visa versa). It might not make me hate them, but I'm constantly taking things into account, whether it be first impression or whether I see them all the time. And I have a killer memory when it comes to people doing stuff (the only thing I can remember, along with the cursed memories of embarassing things I've done that I can't forget). Point: First impressions (unless they end up being only impressions), can't make or break how you feel any more than things at other times can, atleast for me.
