Slayer_Adam7
These are some pixels i have done. I only have 2 so far. More to come. Rate and C/C 1 - This one was a practise on my shading. After some C/C, i managed to fix it up into this 2 - This one was a bit of a challenge. I had fun with the stars. http://www.boom

woopidoo2
These are some pixels i have done. I only have 2 so far. More to come. Rate and C/C 1 - This one was a practise on my shading. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m65/Adam_At_Dreks_Shop/SunOnhill.png 2 - This one was a bit of a challenge. I had fun with the stars. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m65/Adam_At_Dreks_Shop/WaterfallInMoonlight.png At the first one, you need to place the sunlight arround the sun, not behind it. And the shading is still to clear, like blocks of color. At the second one, The sky needs to be 100% Black. only for the blinking stars you use shading, like that color of gray. The moon is a bit squared too. The waterfall and the grass are ok, but need more detailing. Keep it up, keep trying, and youll get there once. Allmost forgot, PS: yes, I allways complain about the borders. They both need one. dark_shadow
try dithering, and possibly using more colour shades to even out the shading, to eliminate those lines where the shades change. in the first picture, the light source is comming from the sun (obviously..) so shade AROUND the sun; the lightest sky-colour should be encircling the sun, with darker colours radiating outwards. also, try to use a green which isnt as... 'neon' . when selecting colours, move the colour picker down, to get a more natural, tranquil green. for the second picture, i disagree with what woopidoo2 said about the sky. you should NEVER use pute black for a pixel; look at nature, there is almost NEVER **PURE** black, so dont use it in your pixels. if you look carefully at the night sky, its actually a very very dark blue. (keep refreshing the page to see the sig that i pixelled with the sillouheted (sp?) horse, in front of the moon and night sky for reference) try to make the moon round; ive never seen it that shape before :P also, try to improve the perspective of the waterfall, the top looks... wrong. also once again, try to tone down the green.. :P personally, i prefer the first picture... good try on both, and keep practicing! good luck with your future pixels!~ Featuring in my sig: TURT, ma pet turdle! Thanks to- Runemetsa and Aijiru for two of the great sigs!Avatar made by me
imhomer
The first one needs dithering to smooth the colors but the color choice and shading is great if it's your first try. I'm going to focus more on the second one because there's more stuff going on there. The moon looks wierd because it's not really circular. It's also kinda cheezy to put the sun/moon in the corner of your picture. Move it out so that it's off center and shrink it so that we see the whole moon, not just a quarter of it. Also shade the sky just like you did for the sun in the other avatar. The stars are oblong in many cases and all one color. Try mixing it up a bit and using different colors for the stars. If you look at the sky there are stars that are more orange or blue than others (unless they're planets ). The water is good as is the foam at the bottom of the waterfall but the orientation of the waterfall is wrong. The water "falls" at a diagonal to where the rest of the picture suggests gravity should pull it. Try straightening out the water fall. Finally, the colors at night are more muted than the ones during the day. Don't be afraid to choose off palette colors with more grey in them as it will make the picture look smoother, less cartoony, and soften the picture to the eyes because there's less contrast.
