BlueLancer
realized I haven't used it in literally months. Yet some people can't go minutes without using that word. I thought, why is this? I came to this conclusion. Besides using it jokingly, the only people who really use it are the real 'noobs' themselves. They're brought up hearing it used on themselves so much, out of an insecurity thing, they attack everyone else with it. Being a 'noob' really is a bad thing to them - otherwise they wouldn't use it themselves. Think about it. Most of us never use that word unless we're jokingly using it. Myself, never. But the only peopel who really use it seriously are those low level f2p 'noobs' themselves. This now meaningless word only exists because the people who are afraid of being called one use it all the time attacking others, mostly just to cover up what they think are their own shortcomings. How often is it that when you completely prove someone wrong, all they have left is that simple four letter word, noob? Yet they somehow think that's a valid comeback. That they've just countered all your points. Well it's not. Seems like everybody missed this point of his post, and it's so true. It should be the definitive origin for the usage of 'noob' today in a dictionary. Think about it, if you're an old player, you very rarely have used this word. Now that I think of it, in RS I last used this word maybe 6 years ago when I was under level 10. Once. After players grow mature and they level up more, the 'noob' will occur rarely. Of course there are immature level 126's too but taking from a general pool of hundreds of high level people, they wont overuse this word. On the other hand, most people who WILL use this word are exactly the "noobs" themselves: People around level 30-60 who feel inferior to people higher level than them so they go to Lumbridge and get a kick out of calling every new player a noob. lagatag
Using "n0 lyf" as an insult has overtaken noob on free world i think. I can't walk anywhere without some random low level asking for free stuff, or just yelling out omg, 107 u no life lol. Although when I ask how much they play, and it turns out they play more than me, they turn to noob, and when I dont give them free stuff too, or at least not free rune. It's great to give like pots to people who ask for free stuff.
kill2pleasure
Yes, the word noob. Or newb, n00b, whatever you want to call it. It's one of the most irritating sounding words to me. Overused, meaningless, and just a vague word used to insult on the internet. It really has no meaning anymore. It used to insult someone who had no idea what they were doing, that whole thing, but now it's just a generic insult. So I was thinking. Why is it that with some people, it's the number one used word in their internet vocabulary, and in others, never used at all? I typed out the word noob today, and realized I haven't used it in literally months. Yet some people can't go minutes without using that word. I thought, why is this? I came to this conclusion. That they've just countered all your points. Well it's not. I didn't really know what the point of this thread would be when I started it, but now I've decided. It's to just show how pointlessly hypocrytical it is to use, and basically, to ask people who still use it to simply just stop. Stop dragging that stupid word over our chat screens. We don't need to see it anymore. It means nothing. Go ahead and keep using it jokingly, but just stop using it as a real form of argument or to insult people, because it's so meaningless nowadays. well..if you are doing something like annoying someone or being really dumb..them you do deserve to be called a noob..if you don't know wut something is and you ask a higher player and they call you a noob..then they are one.. if your in the middle of varrock and you ask wheres varrock..then your definatly a noob Home World: 99Irc-Chat: #Aod
