Runescape 3?

What really needs to be changed is the PKing system. I dont see any problems with the rest except that the xp on RS2 is outrageously more than from back in RSC. The PKing system for RS2 is too simple, there is nothing like "3 hitting" or "catching" like there was back in RSC.

I like the current pk system. Opponents CAN run. Makes for a good chase anyway. :)

Yeah but what Im saying is that the only real way of killing someone on f2p is by teaming them on multi, above 20 wild. A good pker will never kill someone else if he/she is under level 20 wild and has teleport runes, its impossible. The pking for p2p though is different with entangles and teleblocks, but still very confusing from my rsc point of view

the only thing they would need an rs 3 for would be to break the xp and gp limits, as i beleive that java itself causes the limit, not jagex

what is the gp limit?

If Jagex used the BigInt-class which is a part of the Java Library, the size of a number is only limited by the available memory/harddiskspace on the server where it is stored. It saves the number as a string and I guess they use a custom made interpreter to convert the binary String to decimal representation.

I have heard recent reports in another thread which I shall have to find.

Current GP limit for RuneScape: ~2.1 billion in bank

Recommended maximum GP: ~1 billion in bank

I personally will never carry more than 500 million gp maximum... IF I ever get that far.

And btw, if you exceed max limit, your gp resets to ZERO. :uhh: :ohnoes: :uhh: :ohnoes: :uhh:

Yes, that IS kind of "End of the World" for your character.

I wouldn't want it to come out...but I guess i'm selfish, lol. I'm too addicted to chatting with friends, hehe. If they do come out, I'll probably quit, too much schoolwork. I only really play to achieve one goal and to meet new friends...I socialize best online since I don't get nervous and mess up.

I also believe they are at about the best they can go with a Java based game. If they would need a Runescape 3, I would think Jagex would use a new engine, call it something else, but make it VERY similar, with better graphics. They'd probably keep RS2, do the whole "Stay on RS2 or the new game" with a item switch (SOMEHOW, haha, maybe impossible between different game engines). I have no idea, but what I am almost sure of is that a new game would need a different engine than Java.

Jagex need a new game with is its own client not Java.

I agree, make it like the other games (wow, guild wars, eq) but with the same concept of runescape.

Heh... that's not the major problem.

They are more scared of cheaters. Forget autoing... people would be making client hacks sooo easy if they made OS-specific compilation. Although it'd be much much faster in machine code and could better make use of hardware for such things as graphic acceleration and stuff... so you don't have it using tons of resources and being laggy. So they could make it like 10x better... and even faster.

But people would just start pulling out the hex editors. :P
