KCHughes
I posted this on the Runescape main forums, but it went down unnoticed. I thought I'd repost it here for more feedback. I don't know about you, but I don't go into the Wilderness at all. There's nothing there I need, and it's so far out of the way that it's inconvenient to go there. So I had an idea. My idea is to add a new concept called "Security Ratings." Simply, the Security Rating is the measure of how safe an area or a player is. The Rating can range from 0.0 to 1.0; a number closer to 1.0 is very safe, and a number close to 0.0 is very dangerous. The lower the rating gets, the more susceptible you are to attacks from other players. For instance, towns, cities, indoor areas, and paved pathways will be 1.0. The farther you get from cities and paths, the Rating will get lower. I take a lot of shortcuts around Runescape, and some of the shortcuts I usually take would be considered pretty dangerous areas in this plan. That's a very cool thing to me. I thrive on adventure/danger/thrills. Players would also have individual Ratings. The more you PK, the lower your rating gets. You'll essentially be considered a dangerous player. Your rating *would* go back up after 48-72 hours, granted you don't PK during this period :P A cool addition to this could be bounties. If a player's Rating goes below 0.5, then a bounty gets placed on their head. If you kill one of these players, they will drop a certificate that you can take to a bank or something and redeem it for cash. So if you know that your Rating is below 0.5, it would be best for you to lay low in a low-traffic area till you were safe from bounty hunters again. Think about what this could do. Don't like autoers? Just wait for them to get halfway between the bank and the yews and kill them (but your Rating *will* go down, even if you are helping the game :P Fair's fair!) But Jagex should also emphasize the danger of low-security areas during Tutorial Island, so no newbies get themselves killed. Please, Jagex, consider this. I like adventure! the russians are the best! Hands down!
Dalcyte
i disagree with that...jagex won't do player hunting player stuff like that. The security stuff isn't good either i think, u go there, u die, u remember not to go there :P Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
maximumentropy
I can't see them ever adding that in, but I've thought something like that myself, just without the security ratings; I think it would be great to have that, it would add to the excitement and would make you pay attention more often ... and it would probably give laws a bit of a price boost. :P
Blaze The Movie Fan
What the hell are you talking about? I don't want to go to steel dragons and see my security ratings low there. This is basicly lame, I don't even think it would work out. Sorry to flame you, I don't really mean to, but I can't see the good part of this.
Zaaps1
now i agree with the pk ratings, as it would be fun to see who pks a lot and who doesnt, and who has a lot of experenice. The bondntey thing is pretty cool also, but i dont think you should get that big of a prize. I mean if the guys a good pker, he should have good stuff on him, and thats reward enought. Maybe you get a scroll or something at records all the guys you killed in the wildy and there rating at the time, so you can show it off to freinds. .if you trade on with another person, the trade goes as usual, and the other guy can see all your kills and stuff, once your drop someone eelses, or your scroll, you hav the option of redeeming it the next time you talk to a banker. Also you can only trade a scroll for a scroll so no one goes, " selling zezima's pk scroll, 1mil!!!!!!!!!!" You should also be able to hang these in your house soewhere. Also, if you drop you scroll it automatticly disappears after a minutes, so no drop trading pk scrolls. Also, in edgeville, theres a pk master npc. He issues your scrolls and allows you to search for another players scroll stats, and can even give you a copy of there scroll, at the cost that you turn in yours. You can also use magic to bind the scroll into your shield to make a shield (s) ( scrolled). The shields purpose is to act as the scroll, while saving inventory room. It also allows you to carry antoher scroll as you cannot have 2 at the same time. Anyone can view your scroll stats by clicking on you then choosing examine on the menu. You would argue that this takes up screen space, so theres an optiuon to turn this off. Last word, you can only bind your own scroll into your shield. this is a great idea, and i wish jgex would listen, try posting on the offical forums again. ~It's Super Effective! Blaze The Movie Fan
It isn't that they don't listen, it's that the threads are so many, and 50 page is the limit, and your thread will go on 51st page within few seconds. I've heard the forums had some makeover, is that 50 page limit gone? If not I guess you just have to re-post it and bump in every so often. meb
Someone likes EVE :P . I personally don't think this is necessary, Jagex warns people through message boards or NPCs already. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. scruff636b
its cool, but who here remembers RSC1? it had people able to sign up as a PKer and kill people, the NonPKers people rebelled then and Jagex rewrote the game into the current RSC DON'T support this idea! or just have optional worlds/a RS3 which is like RS2 but has this! ortiz9471
So by telling people exactly how much danger there is and what to expect you are adding more excitement? :wall:
