FuBai
Che was an interesting figure, granted. He was intersting in a flawed manner - an epic protagonist doomed to act in a tradgedy by his own tragic flaw. And, whilst his idealistic philosophies were interesting, I find pragmatism to be the most intelegent answer to the world. There is more to be derived from The Prince than I find of use in the Motorcycle diaries. But that's my opinion. Our world seems so beset by moral absolutes and idealogies, at least to me, that we are unable to consider the basic framework of our own society - we rarley as why murder or peadophilia is wrong. We simply know that it is - and, whilst it may be best to believe that it should not be allowed, I find it depresingly restrictive not to examine why without provoking outrage. I'm not asking for justifcation or reasons as to why these things are wrong in response. The statement I make agains idealistic absolutes is more general than that. 1_man_army
Hmm, The motorcycle diaries a good portrayel from beginning to end? The Motorycycle Diaries only shows the pre-revolution Che. Good movie though, some insight on the younger che. Though I wouldn't take it's too serious, it seems quite one-sided. Yeah I liked the Motorcycle Diaries as well. I thought it was a good excersice in showing how he came to form his ideas from what he witnessed as he travelled. That being said it was also a very good film regardless of the historical status of its main protagonist. It was quite one sided especially if you note that the actor who plays Che's friend in the film is infact Che Guevara's second cousin in real life, so it obviously had to approval of his remaining relatives. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
