Barihawk
New game, set to take place during all 5 series. You start off in campaigns in Archer's time and go all the way to the Next Generation/DS9/Voyager era. The game is developed by Bethseda Softworks, known for the Elder Scrolls series. You will control 1-4 ships in very awesome space combat. Gameplay video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAruDiINK9A Screenshots: Please note that these screenshots were from E3, and the game has advanced TREMENDOUSLY since then. The website is: http://startrek.bethsoft.com/games/legacy-overview.html There are over 80 classes of ships to choose from! The game won the Gamers Best of E3 2006 award. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
mixand
To be honest i don't really like space games and ive never seen startrek but this looks pretty cool "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel AdamsMy new site. [bETA]
Kwisatz
To be honest i don't really like space games and ive never seen startrek but this looks pretty cool People always complain that Star Trek doesn't have action like Star Wars, and that therefore it sucks. Then they go out and watch some two-bit drama with Ashton Kutcher in it, calling it "deep and explorative of the human soul" . Star Trek is a great science fiction franchise. If you want something like a good book or adventure then Star Trek is ideal. If you want nostalgia and camp as well then the original series is even better. If you want PG-rated space blasters then go watch Star Wars. Not that I'm trying to say that you like Star Wars and that you're a n00b, since after all you didn't even mention Star Wars, but I'm just ranting about what I hear. It's really sweet, check it out sometime. On topic, I don't much like space games either, but they're fun for a bit. I played much Freespace back in the day, and it was complicated as a mo. I might give this game a try though, since it's already so critically acclaimed handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
BlueTear
The one thing that stands out wabou the game on the official page is all the pretty screens. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for pretty screens and I know there's a lot of fun to be had taking nice pictures. At the same time though, there seems to be a remarkable lack of screens including the actual interface. And no matter how pretty a starship is to look at, if the designers fouled up controlling said starship, that's a definite drop in fun-factor. The game is recieving a tad bit too much commendation for hawt graphics for my tastes, I'd like some mention of the actual gameplay beyond "All Star Trek era's included!!1!1!oen". And to brush on BTFF's comments about Star Trek-Star Wars... The largest annoyance I have with Star Trek is that they never quite manage to get the proper feel for it. When the Millenium Falcon's hyperdrive breaks down, Han Solo really stresses out. When the warp core goes offline, no one quite manages more than looking a bit hurried. When you fend of a charge of Stormtroopers there are casaulties[/i]. When the away team of choice uses their phaser's, they just don't manage to make it seem like they're fighting for their lives. That being said, there's a lot of good Star Trek episode's that revolve around complicated diplomatic problems that require ingenuity to work out rather than brute force, and the character portraits are usually quite good. But it just isn't "down and dirty" enough a lot of the time, compared to Star Wars. -This message was deviously brought to you by:

The site is intentionally outdated, and those screens are from E3. They are releasing renders and such, but other than that they want to blow us away at release. A lot of info can be found in the forums. Oh, and for the record: I love the original 3 Star Wars movies. I hate the newest 3 (because they are fanservice). I grew up with Trek though and loved it because it portrays a possible future for us. I can relate much more with humans from Earth rather than Correllians and such. Barihawk
so what exactly is this game? looks like it might be an RTS Squad-based RTS. You don't build anything, but you control up to 4 ships (others being controlled by AI). You can directly manipulate 1 and give commands to the other 3. I would reccomend visiting the official site. Tigra00
Didn't uhh...Didn't "Spore" win Best of E3? :-k *Shrug* I love RTS games, but for some reason I doubt this one will do it for me. :P I also have watched star trek on many boring rainy days, but I'm not really a "fan". It's an okay show, I guess. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

Barihawk
Just noticed something cool in the Wrath of Khan video. The Enterprise player upon entering the Mutara Nebula (where shields are useless) rerouted his shield power to engines and weapons, giving him an edge. I'll bet you're one of the people that cry when Spock dies. On topic, I don't much like RTSs, so I probably won't get it in that case. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was 7 when I saw the movie and DID cry when Spock died :P. BTTF, it's not really an RTS. It's a lot like Klingon Academy or Bridge Commander (although without the bridge element). I think you're doing more to make it "fodder" than anybody else, not to mention absoutely spamming up the thread. At the very least I made a few remotely relevant contributions, whereas you have made absolutely none. If you're gonna troll do it somewhere else. handed me TWO tissues to clear up.
