menot
if i were you, i'd talk with someone in your school about it, and if the headtecher/whatever doesnt work, maybe talk with someone in the library or somewhere that you would rather go instead, and if they are ok with you spending the time there instead, then do that. babelfish - level 180 60th placestrongguy - level 173 69th place
yeah_you_are
actually the bible says that woman was made from man, not for man. All that means is that Man and Woman have a very close bond, not that one is superior. Woman are honored in several places in the bible. The prostitute Rahab was in the Hall of Faith for hiding the spies of the people of Israel in Cannan, and honor that not many people have. Please get your facts straight -.- If at first you dont suceed, then you fail.
sheepdean
if you are in England, by law they can't force you to go to church, duno about other countrys Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. pompey_spud
To the Topic Starter: If your parents are sending you to a private school, they're probably doing so for a reason. Respect them, respect your teachers, respect the preacher, and just deal with what you're supposed to do. actually the reason im in this public school is coz we live in the middle of no-where, and the other 2 schools remotely near us both have terrible drug, pregnancy and bullying problems :-s also to sheepdean, they cant force us to do a lot of things that they do but its not bothering them. I dont think public schools have to follow regular state school legislation... :wall:
issy2
Okay Right. I go to a school that was originally Catholic, but now accepts all people of other religions. We have a church service lasting 35 minutes every Friday (there's 4 services during the week for different people in the school) There's a boy in my class who doesn't have to go because he's Jehovah's Witness. He had a short talk with my (very understanding, kind) form tutor, who agreed he shouldn't have to go. Ok. Well. I suggest doing that; speaking to a teacher you are friendly with, asking if you can have a private word after a lesson? Perhaps also you should speak (subtlely) to the Reverend and ask what he believes about baptisism, religion, etc. Then maybe you can find out more about why he feels this way and slip in a few probing questions. Or of course, just don't go.

Gattree
Hmm doesn't sound like a typical preacher usally there not rude. So everyone at your school is going to the same church? Churches only represent part of the community and working at a church is less community service and more of a godly service. What type of church is it also? Giordano
Just uh.. don't go. I don't know your age though, and if your just a kid just go to it, it's not going to kill you. Something else I want to add: Why does your age matter?? You should have all of the basic rights at any age. I used to think going to Mosque (ours is actually not called that) was a waste of time. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
