My first pixel work...

Featured Replies

I had never tried to make pixel pictures, and one day I just decided to try it... It took me like 3 or 4 days, and the results are, well, OK for me :? I needed a guide for the three people on the picture, (I draw them by myself, just used a picture to help me on proportions) as you can notice the ranger is similar to the one on "see armour stats" since it was the first guy I draw and I was still not sure on how to do it... the other ones are more different from the models. The rest of the stuff on the sig and all the colors and shadows were drawn without help and it has some failures, so if anyone could give me some advice to improve it, I'll be grateful

Here's the sig:

good for a first =) only a few things, dont outline in black, using a daker tone of the color makes it look more realistic. second, why exactly is the skeliton praying? thirdly, why is the guy playing cards? fourthly, why does the dude have a football helmet?

Ow  I was thinking on remove the black lines, i'll probably do it. The skeleton and the guy are supposed to be playing cards, and the skeleton lost all what it had... And it's not a helmet, it's hair, but it looks a bit strange

yeah, the main reason it looks pixelated is you traced an rs charachter.. a big no no as you cant add much deatail to that.

Sigs made by Runemetsa, Nuzza, Dark_Shadow, Kuroi and Me.

American Anime... YAY!

It looks great for a first, but here are a few things to look for:

The mage's arms are a bit to thin around the upper arm area.

The ranger seems to have too little neck and the mage too much.

Remember that not everything needs to be outlined in black.

Finally just practice shading. The stone wall has too few colors and the ranger's body has too little contrast in the colors to look like he really has depth.

uggh... you traced a rs charicter??? disgusting...

Not really... I didn't copypasted anything, sorry if it looked like that... remember, I'm starting and I hadn't a clue on how to do it... and all the colors are 100% mine so the fails are mine. Yes, the ranger looks a lot like a rs character because it was first done by outlining one, then I added some changes, tried to make it different but since it was the first one I couldn't do it so well. All the color is mine, so the fails are mine too. I'm sorry if anyone find it disgusting... I'm just trying to learn, that's why I posted it here.

You are right, the arm of the wizard is too thin

not the pixel that i found disgusting, i find ripping disgusting. if you say you didnt trace, you havent proven to me your not trustworthy, so im going to assume you didnt trace. like i posted above, i tried my hand at coloring your linework. for furure refrence, try using colors twards teh botem of your palette ( the grayer colors). it make the difrence of something looking like this:

flyindutchieavvi-1.jpg (refering to the ground, mountans, and sky)

and this

Yeah, I traced the guy like I said when I edited. I'm only saying I didn't wanted to rip anything, just did it for help and then made all the rest of the picture, including colors. I'm sorry you think I'm not trustworty, I sometimes found so hard to explain myself on a languaje that's not mine, so maybe I should have been a bit more specific on the first post... sorry again.

First, I'll try and explain what I meant by tracing. I traced the silhouette of the character in black. Then removed the picture and starting changing things, then I colored all by me. You can go and have a look, the colors are different than Runescape ones. It just looked like by "tracing" you meant I took a capture and directly I drawed the black lines on it, and it was all my work. That's not right. I never thought on making something like that and then go saying "That's my work!" Please, don't misunderstand me.

I'm doing a completely new pixel without tracing at all, but it will take me some time to finish it...

ahha, i kinda was wondering if you spoke english as a second lenguage.

what i was trying to say was that you havent shown me that you would rip, so i believe you when you say that you didnt rip. i think its a great pixel, and for a first its awasome. next time, try to do the charicters withought tracing directly (you can still look at them for refrence)

I'm currently doing a new pixel sig without help, that one was like a practice on how to draw the bodies and all this stuff... I hope I'll have it finished soon to post it here.

Btw, your colors looked awesome
