I'm a chemistry student and I've been yelled at for having my water bottle (closed) out of my backpack during a lab session. Any food or drink on a lab is only asking for gasses and other things around to be absorbed into it, that's why you never chew gum on a lab. So I guess this guy wasn't on one, and if he was he was pretty damn stupid to dip his gum on ANYTHING while on there, since it's really easy to get substances confused when they look almost identical and you have all them scattered around your table...

I've started having anxiety attacks this year, usually on holidays. I chalk them up to routine changes and the fact that during the year I've got so many things to do that I don't think about anything too much. Anyway, when I'm having one of them I feel like I'm going to die, my chest hurts, I can't breathe well and I start feeling dizzy and feeling really bad. Sometimes tachicardia hits too, and my heart beats so fast it feels like it's going to collapse. I went to the doctor a couple of times, had my heart checked and all they found were unusually high levels of anxiety. Luckily they are gone now. Some advice you would want to consider: 1. Have your health checked by a doctor. Anxiety attacks can be caused by a physical cause like anormal hormone levels, that's why you should disregard any physical causes before trying to fix it. 2. If they don't find anything, then you know it's not a life-threatening situation. Believe me, it is NOT. I thought I was going to have a heart attack ever after they told me it was nothing, and it only made things worse. 3. Always remember what you're feeling is only caused by your fear. If you relax and take your mind out of it, it WILL be gone. Trust me. Next time you feel an anxiety attack, try to lie down and relax. If you can, breathe slowly and deeply. If not (I wasn't able to do it the few first times) try having some mild tranquilizers like an hot infussion of tila or valerian. Feel it going down your throat. Also, taking your mind out of the attack is always helpful, so if you have a comic or some light lecture near you while you are drinking will help you relax. Sometimes, when the attack is intense, I have found that crying is also a good way to let the adrenalin out of your body. But then again, I'm a girl, so I don't know how it works on guys :P. 4. I know it's hard, but as I said, anxiety attacks are mostly caused by your fears. If you are always thinking when they will pop up and fearing that moment, next time they come they would be worse, simply because you're scared. Solution? Don't be scared of them. However bad they feel, they are nothing, they won't kill you, or make you go crazy. So, try to keep your mind out of them. Keep yourself busy, on something you enjoy and keeps your mind out of your fear. Going out with friends help too. Nobody says it's esay, but you mostly have to learn how to deal with them. Once you do it, once you realize anxiety attacks are nothing out of usual, you will notice that they slowly feel less threatening, they become lighter, and easier to deal with, until you no longer feel them. And trust me, they will pass.

They would come running at you, saying things like "gimme your soul!!" wile a tetric music played on the background... also, you needed a certain item to be able to fight the wild ghosts or else they would appear as generic "ghosts" who scared the hell out your pokemon. Maybe it isn't as graphic as the other examples of the thread but it sure was scaring for me, to the point I tried to fight as less as those guys as possible >.<

Just a tip, if you're going to tape it back, don't use cellotape (this), because it tends to stain the pages when it gets worn off and won't last too much anyway (assuming the book is going to stay in the library for a couple more years). If you can, use something like the transparent paper you put on books' covers to protect them (This, I don't know how it's called in English), just cut a thin stripe and it'll do.

I'm not sure how it works where you live, but I used to be a volunteer on the local library and there were a fair amount of books with torn off pages, but we never made anyone pay for that. I'm fairly sure that only applied if someone returned a book with a major damage, like something which made it unreadable. Just put the page where it should go and explain it to your library, they'll probably understand it. Pages rip off on old books all the time, nobody should be surprised.

From Asimov, try the Foundation series. It's science fiction inspred by the decline of the Roman empire. I was unable to finish the fourth one (Foundation's edge) because it was too dense for my taste, but there are a lot more books of those series if you like them.

I don't know where you guys are from, but where I live hugs are a normal greeting between friends :|. There are mostly girls who do it, but it's not rare to see guys hugging too (though they use the "hold hand, hug, pat on back, release" type of hug, supposedly it's more masculine). Even if it's pretty common between teenagers (again, mostly girls) I see them at my university and it's not seen as wierd or strange...

Lol, if someone does that with me I try my best to get away :lol:. Can't stand it. And at least where I live (south of Spain) it's not natural, it tends to annoy most of the people I know. Not saying I don't agree with you though, just find that funny. And here breastfeeding IS a natural thing, I don't think I have heard anyone complaining about it. Even 50 years ago, when you couldn't walk with your partner holding hands in public if you weren't married (there were some super-strict christian moral laws, you could even get fined for that), breastfeed was still allowed. It depends of culture, I guess...

Almost everything I wanted to say has been already said. Don't let your loss detain you of doing anything: try to keep your daily routine and maybe find someone to go out in your spare time, as being busy and/or with people usually stops you of overthinking about what happened and helps relieving anguish and sadness. Talk with your family if you need it, it would help you a lot in accepting your grandma's death, but don't force yourself to talk if you don't feel like that; sometimes you just need to keep things to yourself until you're prepared to face them. As Ginger said, she had the best of deaths possible: she passed away while sleeping, without feeling any pain. Right now it seems horrible, but in a couple of months you'll be looking back and remembering all the good times you had with her. Trust me ;). (For the record, I'm 19, lost my father at 14. I know how you are feeling)

My mother used to sleep naked so I have seen her like that since I can remember. However, I don't think I ever saw my father naked :?. Into the subject of public nudity, you also have to take into account hygienic factors: walking around the street completely naked makes you highly vulnerable to illnesses, due to dust and dirt getting everywhere, not to mention everytime you sit into a bench, for example, your body is touching the same spot as a thousand naked people before, thus multiplying the risk of getting a nasty infection (since not everybody has good hygienic habits). There's also the protective factor, as clothes keep you protected from sunburn and cold, and even from small impacts. I don't think nudity is bad, per se, but highly impractical unless you have a designed place for it, like, let's say, a beach or something like that :|

My step-dad is pretty cool, even if it took some time for me to accept him at first, my mom is definitely happier with him and that's all that counts :thumbsup:. He doesn't try to act like if he was my father, either, and that's good too because probably I won't like him too much if he did...

Same here. Our cats vary from the don't-get-near-me type (the run away if they see anyone getting closer, and are generally agressive) from the ones who you can stroke as much as you want. Our older cat is the best. She loves to do anything she knows it's wrong, like getting into people's houses, or our own (as they all live in the yard outside) and stealing food or any object she likes. Then if you catch her and shout at her, or even slap her a bit, she simply sits there looking all innocent and hurt #-o. You can't punish her on any way possible, she's like "I know I shouldn't do this but I don't care at all, and I'll do it again". There's no way to make her obey any rules. Also, since she's also one of the sharper cats I have ever meet, she learns how to do things the other ones don't even think about trying, like opening closed windows from the outside :shock:. I really want to know how she manages to do that. You hear her struggling with the window and next thing you know, she's standing on your bed with a proud face. We also own a dog, but now she's old (like 15) and she's never been the nicer of the family, barks and growls at anything or anyone and doesn't generally like people. Maybe that's why I'm a cats person, although I don't mind playful/friendly dogs, just mine isn't like that.

Funny, I know a few people named Luna where I live :P (it's the spanish word for "moon" just in case someone didn't knew). I agree, it's a cute name.

I don't know Italian, but it sounds a bit like Spanish so maybe I'll be of a bit of help there... Babbo is a familiar word for dad (my sister, who lives in Italy, used this word a lot with my father). I'm pretty sure Magario is another word for Hungarian, such as "Magiar" in Spanish. Maybe "Amo la lingua tedesca non!!" -> "I don't like German"? "Parliamoper favore" looks like a typo. I think it should say "Parliamo per favore ungherese" -> "Please, let's talk hungarian". Next line says "I'll teach you italian and you will be my student", quite close to what has already been said. No idea of what's going on on the last paragraph, sorry. It doesn't sound like anything I know...

I've been a lurker on those forums since I left The Gallery one or two years ago. Even if I never post, I still enjoy coming here every now and then for a good read. Some of the best posts I have ever seen came from those forums (admittedly, there were also some that wasn't so good). I don't know why I keep coming back, but you guys sure are addictive :lol:

Are those cats really related to siamese ones? I have a two-years old cat who looks exactly like yours and I also adopted him (he was a two-months or so kitten and was crying under a car when I found him, I think he got lost from one of the stray cats on my street). I have always wondered if he is somehow related to siamese cats or not. Here he is (warning-BIG pic) I have 10~13 cats at the moment, hard to tell with male cats always going out to find females #-o.

I don't know how it is with boys, but by the time I was like 6 I knew exactly what a breast was and what was it used for. Little children like to ask questions and explore their own bodies and their mother's. I'll be surpresed if any child I know thought of breastfeeding as something strange or awful. And I live in Spain, you know, conservative catholic European country ;). Also my sister, who lives in Italy, has a little child and breastfeeds him when he needs to, and believe me, you wouldn't see anything even if you tried to. The baby's head and the t-shirt covers almost everything. You know, that whole business of "I don't like seeing it so it should be covered or done where I didn't see it" seems a bit egotistical. Personally, I don't like when couples kiss next to me and I'm eating (not the normal cheek kissing, but the "making out" variety - sorry if that sounds a little off, I don't know exactly how you say it, but hope it makes any sense), but that's my problem, not the couple's. If it disturbs me too much, I'll just look away or swap places. I don't have any right to dictate what they have to do.

The worst part of the censor is when you speak another language while in game. I used to play it with some MSN friends and we speak spanish to one another. It's pretty hard, you can't say, for example, the spanish word for "Black" (Negro) without having it turned into stars, nor any word ended on "-as" (the majority of the plurals) because it's impossible to understand what the other guy is trying to say. I agree with the "censor option" suggestion, as it has been said many times before. It would be a really good improvement if jagex used it.

Some time ago, we had to take care of three kittens after their mother was killed by a car. They were 1 week old, and we had to feed them with a feeding bottle filled with cow milk and water (since the cow milk is too concentrated and it can cause them to constipate). When they grew up a bit we started feeding them with baby food, also diluted. The three of them grew up perfectly fine, and I still own one of them (had to give away the other two). If you don't want to be watching the amount of water on his food every time you feed him, you can also go to the veterinary and buy him special food for lactant kittens. Surely he can advise you which one is the best for your kitten's age.
