simpletron
recently i have been giving out a lot of directions for the witch's potion quest because i've been training firemaking on the willows near hetty(the witch). so i propose a two new spells to make giving directions easier: give direction (non members version) give direction2 (members version) the wo spells are basically the same except give direction2 would be expanded to the members world. how it works: a veteran player would cast it on a newer player with accept aid on and a map of the world would appear on the veteran player screen. the veteran player would then place a marker on the world map. then on the newer player's compass another arrow would appear pointing in the direction of the marker placed. the spell would be free to use and give no magic experience, but you must complete a quest to use it. the quest would be in two parts: the non-members and members. the non-members quest would be a requirement of the members quest. the quest itself is simple. just run/teleport to talk to a person from each town. so for non-members, just talk to a person from varrock, falador, lumbridge, draynor, rimmmington, edgeville, barbarian village, karamaja and al karid. the members one would be similiar except to only members towns. you wouldn't have to talk to them in any particular order. the quest is mainly to prove you are worthy of giving out directions. the ablity to give directions would help save time of veteran players and help newer players to find what they need. so what do you guys think of it? swordrond
I have been playing for quite a while now and still manage to get lost from time to time  However, whenever I do, I simply have the world map up in another browser. Its simple and effective. I just don't think that this is necessary. Am I alone?

Its simple and effective. I just don't think that this is necessary. Am I alone? have you ever been asked "where is XXXXX? " it is to help answer that question. it is not design to help yourself from being lost unless someone else to help you. the main reason way i am suggesting this is because i'm tired to typing directions to the port sarim magic shop, which almost no one under lvl 30 knows where that is. also i prefer to teach newer players, how to do it for themselves, so they wont beg me for stuff. like the old saying give a man a fish he is full for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll be full for a lifetime. ThurinEthir
No, you're wrong about the last part. Look in my sig if you want to know... About the idea...Also no. As much as helping people is good, Jagex has already gotten WAY too friendly to new players. I mean, the teleport? The "give-back" items? The updated newcomers map? The signposts? Unless you don't understand English well (I mean, you REALLY don't know ANY English), then there's no reason to get lost. Giordano
You forgot the fact that there is a lot of mean people in RuneScape. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." swordrond
Yeah... I keep a map browser open, but why shouldn't other players? If they did it, then surely they wouldn't need to ask...
