runemetsa
It amazes me how you made your dog to stand so still in the 1st picture. Usually they twitch or move away in the critical moment, bit like in the second one. the path with the tree looks nice, beautiful location. You should take another picture of that tree later in the fall when leaves have even more color. Yes, letting a dog stand still is very hard. :wall: But this time I took the photo just before I walked the dogs, before that moment he expects something from me. So when I say: Sit! he sits, he waits for the next move so he can be outside :P [http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com][Tip.it Moderator from Dec 10, 2006 to 03 Sep, 2008]
jak722
Amanita muscaria, commonly called fly agaric or less often fly mushroom, is a basidiomycete mushroom of the genus Amanita. The original white-spotted red toadstool, it is one of the most recognizable mushrooms and is widely used in popular culture. Though it is generally considered poisonous, Amanita muscaria is otherwise famed for its hallucinogenic properties. Don't eat the mushroom. The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. greenslime89
Some constructive critisism. As much as I like your photos, I feel the ones of the mushrooms could have been more dramatic, perhaps taking them at a lower angle and using something like a tissue to bounce the flash to illuminate the underneath of it, mushrooms are very photogenic if you can capture their detail effectively. I won't comment on the dog ones as you were experimenting but if you are interested in black and white photography, you may want to invest in a red filter - if you don't have an SLR just buy a cokin one and attatch it with blu-tac. It's not ideal but it works - just be careful with where you put the blu-tac. The one with the tree is nice, but I don't care for the burnt out sky, perhaps you could go back and set up your tripod and take the photo with the sky over exposed then take another photo from the same spot with the sky exposed correctly, then merge them together in photoshop. The above images show some detail under the mushroom, I used my tissue to bounce the flash, I had a cold and it was the only thing I had to hand. I don't know if it was possible for you to get any lower, perhaps there were nettles or something stopping you, your mushroom shots do work but they could show more detail like the ones above.
