mario_sunny
I've always heard rants concerning low levels and their uselessness in the minigame Castle Wars. *Most* low levels actually try to help, but it may seem as they no use to the team. This is not true. I believe it is not their fault, it is jagex's fault. My suggestion? Jagex needs to make more options in castle wars than just operating a catapult that can hit teammates. They just get totally clobbered if they try anything else(capturing flag, fighting off foes, ect.). I suggest jagex include more features for the poor low levels in castle wars. Currently I have no suggestions, but I am very open for some. I suggest jagex makes something that doesn't hit fellow teammates. :x Now in some cases, there are low levels that tend to think its funny to watch their fellow allies get owned by a flying rock, but *most* of the 'newbs' there just want to help. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . blitzkerig0
One of the cool things about castle wars is that it is trying to be as realistic as it can be. If you choose to use the catapult you know that you are taking a risk that it could hit one of your people. However, I do believe that low levels need a few more options to make castlewars more fun for them. Also, you might not want to blame Jagex, they have alot under their belt at this point and you cannot exspect them to get done with every problem quickly. Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas. - Joseph Stalin (1878-1953)

First of all, I never mentioned anything about wanting castle wars to not be realistic. Go ahead, make it realistic. All I want is a few more features for low levels. Second of all, I never mentioned anything about the low levels wanting to have 'fun', more options for low levels would give them more opprotunities to help the team. Third of all, I never mentioned anything about wanting this update to come quickly. I have a strange feeling you didn't even read my post :shame: By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. ThurinEthir
I believe I count as one of those low-levels. Is sub-60 what you were talking about? I guess that people under level 40 have almost nothing to do in CW, but between level 40 and 60, there's plenty to do. What I do/My "rules" for CW: -Never use melee, you'll get clobbered. Use range or magic, they're much better. -Get a few other low levels and head to the catapult. Possibly have a guy running back and forth from the catapult to the place with rocks. If you do it right, you can super-quick firing. You might kill some people on your own team, but you SHOULD be killing more on the other team. -Act as a decoy. For example, find someone in a fight, and will probably lose. When people see a level 90 and a level 50, 95% of the time, they'll attack the level 50. I'm not sure why, but they do. And once they attack the level 50, the level 90 is free to run off, and do some damage. -Jost protect the flag/flag carrier...It's not like it's going to do any damage to your own team. You might not be too much of a help, but hey, the more the merrier. -Go to the tunnels, and either clear rocks for your own team, or knock rocks onto the other team. See? Plenty of things to do. I guess a few more things to do would be better, but that's fine for me. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. Prankster_King
Perhaps they could allow players to throw smaller rocks off the wall at players that are close by. They would simply right click on "Small Rocks", select "Throw", and the screen would change into a sort of targeting screen. You just use the arrow keys to look around and target an opponent, then click again to fire. There would of course have to be limitations as to how far you can throw. Small Rocks would cause about 5 damage or so, and would be a bit more accurate than the catapult. This would reduce the accidental squashing of teamates. An addition to Small Rocks would be using an Explosive Potion with the rocks. Then, once you throw them, they would explode on contact and cause more damage (7-9 damage). I understand that this is alot of damage for Small Rocks. Perhaps Jagex could increase the damage done by the catapult. You'd think being hit by a boulder would do quite a bit of damage. Perhaps you could even fuse two Explosive Potions with one of the Rocks for the catapult, thus allowing the larger rock to explode on contact. This would increase damage done, and increase the range of damage quite a bit. The one con for this idea, however, is the increased chance of hitting an allie. The best bet for you would be to aim only where theres an enemy, and no allies. : Opinions? mrmyk
as mentioned in the guide i wrote..cwars isn't completely based on skills..nearly any low level can score provided they bring the right inventry..just they dont prepare correctly. If possible i would like it for items such as traps to be included which low levels could put up though. Buckeyemange
Mario, I have an idea. With the new skill of hunting, have that be part of Castle wars. Alow players to set bear traps and other things that Jagex can put into the game. Think, the main bridge covered in bear traps! These can be disabled by the people who have things to throw into the traps (frogs?), good theiving levels, and/or an arrow to shoot into the trap. The GES, the only clan ruled by a Goat. Jeebe
actually u can use patches on teamm8s to heal them =) but then again that means getting close to the enemy who will easily slaughter you... also you can use potion to collapse the tunnel and even kill a lvl 126 in 1 hit and u can use barricades to anoy other ppl I'm not sure if there is a good way to let low lvls really participate in a good way in cw... What I also think is a problem with cw... if you have only 3 ppl in the game then the team with 2 ppl will always win, regardles of lvl or ability, because 1 can wait at the enemy base and instantly capture the flag when the flag is captured... you can't do that when ur alone (this happened to me once and I lost to 2 low lvls lol, even though I killed them many times I just can't waste time trying to kill one while the other goes after my flag...) with very few players its better that u can only score if ur flag is home, then you HAVE to fight in order to score so its not just about numbers.
