Shewernadze
I know a idea like this has been mentioned millions of times, but heres my view of the idea: Shipworking - a new skill, mostly used for keeping, making, repairing ships. When you make/buy u can go to a dock and start sailing in the sea. The ships move just the same way as you walk (where you click, there you go). In the sea there are new/small islands, on witch are quests, cities, mosters. The only way how to get on theese islands, is to travel by ship. The sea is like the wildy, ewryone can attack ewryone, only the attacking happens like a abordage. Both ships (only two ships can battle at one time) come together and put planks on the other ships. now all people from the both ships can battle in mele. How do u like this simple idea? Shewernadze
Maybe you could recruit fighters, rangers, warriors for the abordages...
tijgerforce
mages and rangers would own they can hit before the walking plank is there but do you get money if you killed the crew of a ship or you get there ship?
Shewernadze
The recruits drop money and stuff. If u defeat a ship, u get the stuff wich the leader would drop if he died normally, but the defeated captain is teleported to one of the docks, and his ship is broken (ships can be repaired depending on your lvl). There could be ship duels, where you agree to give some stuff and your ship if you lose.
tijgerforce
idea to add npc ships with pirates of higher lvl and then you fight them if you win you get something depending on your thiefing lvl, the max amount is like 10-25k and some gold and gems or something, maybe spices to and offcours some sharks :P
kharneboy
and u could also take people ships and sail with urs and theirs.

jrote
You should be able to mount cannons to the docks(up to say 6 maximum,2 on each side,1 on front and back) and they'll need to make a lake in the duel areana, plus make mage and range unsusable unless there already is a plank to the other ship. And a maximum amount of players on-board per type, other wise you have 50 level 80eers on a sailboat going up against a level 40 on a galeon

Guest Comte_Lucifer
i like the idea of artilery. althrought it would be A. a little unfair and B. hard to program, maybe put in a carronade (giant shotgun)? also 3 or 4 boats in a battle, one boards while an allie rakes the crew or the front of the side where it would be least defended, cannons were traditionally not put on the front or back of ships for.... structural reasons. and maybe for archers, fire arrows, or prehaps smaller fire boats to launch at the enemy ships? deathhead154
Burn the ships down with fire magic! On the flip side, it's been proven that women are probably better mothersYes I have balls, but they melted.
