Parents and Credit Cards

Featured Replies

Hello, everyone. I'm currently 14 years old, and I'm trying to sign up for Runescape using a Credit Card. Obviously, I have to use my parents. My mom is kind of nervous about using a credit card, she thinks she will be over-charged, etc. Could a few people just post something encouraging her, maybe saying that it doesn't over-charge and that it's safe? I'm trying to convince her. I'd appreciate it. Thanks \' \'

im 17 and my dad uses his credit card to pay for my membership.

No overcharging just 5$ monthly. (31 days)

SO hopefully ur mom gets u that membership that we all love. (f2p say the dont love it, but if they had it they would hehe).

Seriously, if jagex started credit card fraud, there would be A LOT of unhappy bunnies.

Unhappy bunnies = law suits

Law suits = Jagex giving back all money and getting in jail.

Therefore, they ain't gonna over charge.

Oh, and I've just become a member to. It's amazing

Hopefully this will reassure her :) :P

i used CC to pay for my membership - all OK

Runescape is 4th largest online RPG in the world so fraud is almost impossible

I'm 23 and i've used CC to pay for me and my brother, there was no overcharge at any point. And there isn't now either btw :P

It's secure, if your mom hesitates she can also pay at internet bank or the cell phone method (if you're us or uk resident).

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either

a fool or a coward.

Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law

is both.

For a wounded man shall say to his assailant:

"If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven."

Such is the Rule of Honor.

trust me they won't over charge or they'd get in a major lawsuit

*cough cough* They can't charge me for breaking into my own house *cough cough*

its secure, there is more then 850,000 members accounts and ive never heard of a single instance of fraud or overcharging on jagex's part

Just for reference from the Runescape Knowledge Base: Credit Card Payment

How secure is this payment method?

Our website uses industry-standard SSL encryption when sending your details to the server. This makes it virtually impossible for anyone to intercept your credit card details.

if jagex started overpaying with over the 50,0000 members i think someone would notice...
