There is always a chance to hit zeros just as your lvl goes up you hit less and better arrows do help... Soo you really cant do anything about that other than buying better arrows

I think the kind of arrows only affects your max hit with one, not the accuracy.

What's with the rune helm anyway? Wear a coif, vambraces, ammy of power, maple bow and I think you'll have the maximum ranged bonus F2P can get. The higher your level/bonus, the less zeros you'll hit.

What kind of bow are you using? If you ain't using Maple you would be best to stop and go buy one. Stick with shorts as they have the same attack bonus as the longs but shoot a little faster, you'll give up some long range using shorts but 99% of the time you won't miss it. Also listen to what has been said here, take that helm off at the very least. Metal armor of any kind gives negitive bonus for range attack, the Coif also gives a little positive bonus for range attack so if you happen on one get it. Irons are fine for training but if your getting to many 0 hits you might be over your head. I personally use a twenty second rule. If I can't kill it with in twenty seconds then it's over my head for training. This allows me plenty of time to go pick up arrows and it keeps the exp per hour number up which is what you want if your training.

P.S. use rapid instead of accurate, the extra shots make up for the loss in accruacy

You should wear a coif (from the champions guild), green dragonhide chest,

green legs, maple short bow (set on rapid), power ammy, and iron arrows.

I always preferred doing the Crandor Lesser Demons since they are almost always available.

You should always cast a Curse on the monster first to "pull" it over to your safe spot.

(The Lessers and Mossies both have at least 2 safe spots)

After it arrives outside of your safe spot, then start to range it.

That way all of your arrows will be in the monster loot pile when it dies.

If you stay in your safe spot then you can even kill both monsters at once

(since you won't have a health bar above your head)

If you pick up your arrows, you can use each one about 4 times before it breaks.

You should be able to almost reach level 62 range with the arrows that you have if you pick them up after using them.

Hope this helps

Okay, I am around the same levels. Just look at my stats in my siggy.

For an F2P with around 55 range, best bet is the Minotaurs (level 27) in the Stronghold Of Security. The Minotaurs will die fast with the following battle attire on or anything that at least gives you a Ranged Bonus of +15 or better... Among other things those monsters will drop is "Iron Arrows", usually in a 7, 11, or 13 package. This WILL rebuild your arrow stocks constantly, and will make it grow if you keep picking up all the used arrows, and you won't burn up much food on them.

As for what to wear for best ranging:

Leather Gloves (or Green D'hide Vambraces)

Leather Boots (DON'T wear the Stronghold Boots!!!)

Green D'hide Body and Green D'hide Chaps(Legs)

Coif and Amulet Of Power

Maple Shortbow and Iron Arrows (final item is obvious, I know)

Make sure you have your best combat option (the one that is causing your combat level) available if a nasty evil random shows up, as well as protection prayers available!

BTW, following the info I have given, you MIGHT just be able to reach 99 range!!! Maybe you'll run into me on world 7 as I am ranging there one of these days!!! :D

^^^^ That and you can go to the southeastern room to safespot them. I hit like 6 of them once, kill them off, then switch sides to pick up all of the drops and take out all of the ones on the other side of the barricade. You can also stay in the northwestern rooms and just fish for trout and salmon for food since most of their drops are stackable. That way you won't waste time on bank trips while getting the fastest fishing xp for f2p.
