Mining Question

Featured Replies

Hello all, I was just thinking of a few goals I'd like to accomplish and the main one that stood out was 85 Slayer, and 85 Mining. Now, slayer is not the question at hand, this would be Mining. From my current level of mining (64), I need to mine 80,576 Iron ores, or 56,404 Coal ores.

The true question is, should I powermine all 80,576 Iron Ores, or should I bank all of them, and mine half as much coal? I'm thinking of power mining them all, since I want to achieve it quickly, but about how much time will it take to power mine that many ores. My average playing rate is maybe 2-3 Hours a day, sometimes less, and sometimes more on the weekends.

Thanks , Tribal

powermine iron all the way. MUUUCH faster than coal.

ahh... the good old days, when 30 attack got you on the high-scores.......

For starters, if you're going to powermine, it should definately be iron and not coal. Some people argue that even banking iron is faster exp and money than coal, but I'd disagree seeing how close the mining guild is to west Fally bank.

Powermining 80,000+ ores is no joke, so don't expect to do it without getting bored several times on the way.

I wasn't debating power mining coal at all, I was going to mine the Iron and then half that amount of coal so I could get some smithing too. If I don't decide to do that I am definatly going to power mine the iron, and yes I know I'll get bored a few times

Taking the extra time to bank all 80,000+ ores will turn a huge profit if you were to sell them all for 80-100gp each. That's 8,000,000 coins if you sold them all for 100gp each.

i want to powermine iron also im only lvl 58 so i need like 80k iron also.. whats the quickest way to powermine?? i feel like it takes forever to hafta drop them one at a time... any1 have better idea?

If ur sure u want to powermine (i rather wud bank), i wud point u to 2 locations:

a) alkharid: The obvious choice to getting ores quicly. There is a spot ringed by 3 iron rocks. Watch out for competition, and remember u have to drop each 1 at a time.

B) Varrok east mine: Has 4 iron rocks spread out. The interesting thing is that a lot of the people who are here are low levels, so instead of dropping, u can offer to give them away for free. This in my opinion, is better than mining more ores quickly.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

One quick way of powermining (takes some cash though) is to craft/buy massive amounts of dueling rings, teleing to duel arena, running north, mining 28 ores, teleing to cwars, banking, and then teleing back to duel arena. I used this to craft fires, but it would work for iron also.

As a lvl 85 miner myself I would go for powermining iron ores. Thats what I did tho it was on Classic when the ores were dropped automatically. Seeing powermining back then was boring, and got easily tired, I would go for the 50k coal with banking them because right clicking and drop every second will just mess up your head, belive me. will take some months but hold out and you will get there, with a nice profit aswell :P

personally i think if you have can mine that many ores the profit would be worth it to bank, and the smithing xp if u do iron and coal
