Spilled drink in my keyboard

Featured Replies

Okay, so I spilled my drink in my keyboard.

It's a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop. Was sugar in that drink.

So I wonder, if I have to repair it, or get a new USB keyboard as replacement?

The A, S and E keys doesn't work. (Writing this on school.)

Any advice?

If youve let it dry and still some keys dont work then just get a new one, only cost a few quid.

The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time

andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! <3:

Finally, I get to save the Earth with deadly lasers instead of deadly slide shows!

I spilled a glass full of iced tea (here in Canada, iced tea is VERY sugary) on my Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop this summer - I just tried it as best I could, waited a few hours, and everything worked fine. The keys were sticky for a bit, but eventually everything was back to normal (I'm typing on it for this post!).

try getting some cleaning clots to remove the stickyness. *remove the batter first*

if worse comes to worse you can get replacements keyboards from ebay.

The deal is. I am a girl :P

Anyways, I bought me a nice small Logitech keyboard, around the same size of the laptop, now it's the problem. How the heck can I deactivate that laptop keyboard?

Oh well, a 299NOK keyboard is cheaper than get it repaired or something like that. *Tries to get used to new keyboard*

Edit: Insane, you are lucky, my keys wont work again.. It got spilled right under them, wouldn't care if it was Esc key or F1.
