Backround looks liquified clouds. It's too simple, go find some brushes. Also the render isn't blended, try to do that.

Good start. Now just practice, practice and practice.

Filter pile + random, flat colour + render - blending + bad text - border.

  • [*:wm0aeenk]Filter Piles.

MOVE AWAY FROM THEM. You will not get any better doing filter piles, they also look really tacky and amateur. Learn to brush.

    [*:wm0aeenk]Random, flat colour.

Why? You could also choose better renders, they are black/dark blue so you won't be able to get a very good signature with them. Don't use hue & saturation layers either, use a cloud layer set to overlay.

    [*:wm0aeenk]Blending.

Where? You can't blend a black render into a yellow background no matter how hard you try. From the look of it you just do a filter pile and slap a random render onto it. First rule of using a render; get the render first and build the signature around it.

    [*:wm0aeenk]Bad text.

Never, EVER use a pixel font for any size bigger than 12. They look hard on the eye and although they generally go with anything, they should only be used for subtext.

To match the render, use a gothic font. To match the background use a wavey font.

    [*:wm0aeenk]No border.

Use a 1px black or cinematic. Make sure this layer is onto of ALL layers.

Don't do a d2k, take our advice and use it.

Still looks like you're using filter piles or just some images. :|

You still aren't blending the render, you're just lowered their opacity.

STILL no border.

Really flat colours. (Apart from the Spiderman one)

Random fonts and some bad text placements.

Atleast you're starting to match the background colour and render colour. :|

i didnt fade it the blending option came out wrong, i used screen. what are filter piles and how do u do a decent border?

You can find blending tips and border techniques in my tutorial. :)

Filter piles are bad. It's usually from gradients just spammed across the canvas on difference and then with lots of filters put onto them. Usually filters such as wave, polar co-ordinates and stylize.

Get some brushes from dA and learn to brush using my tutorial or another.

i didnt do any of that stuff :-k i think i used this tut i cant see tha page any more :( http://www.imagemule.com/uploads/full-s ... ut6gQ8.jpg

That's pretty much a filter pile but with a gradient map and a random scatter of a stamp. The outcome is really nasty aswell. :|

Not to sound egotistical or anything, but you should really follow my tutorial.
