So guys, im making a new pixel game and im wondering if anyones got any ideas for storylines or monsters, you can post some pictures of some ideas or just tell me.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Basic game idea so far is you start of with a custimised character (male/female and looks) and you start in a choice of 4 different home towns were you are given a companion to raise up ( att, def, str ) you can catch wild monsters which can merge into your main companion to make it stronger in battle, in turn creating a unique moster for each player. Unlike games like pokemon or zelda you get a number of storylines according to what you decide, making the game unique every time you play. The idea is to give the game a lot of depth and be adictive, at the moment Ive designed a level creator using binary code and ive created 3 of the playable starting towns. The graphics are basically like the pixel art ive been posting on this forum but a lot better as im always improving it.

start out short with monsters, use rabbits, beavers ext.. when the game is out longer make more standing creatures with armor/weapons.

no they didnt hire me but they know im making it and theyre interested in the ideas and designs ive sent em. but if i make it for game boy or somit i wont be able to make it an online game which was my original plan. so im undecided at the moment until ive got the game fully on the way.

i got t he idea to make the game from Pokemon (on the gameboy) so i suppose itll be modern but in a different world with forests and stuff but not medevil or anything.

I'm not trying to put you down but you're misleading people there's .000000001% your game would ever be put on gameboy..Unless you work for Nintendo.

make it so you have like an animal you can raise and train by your side. IT can help you in battle and stuff.

Then please elaborate. I'm just trying to make sure you aren't like all the other noobs who come up with this horrible idea for a game think they'll make it big and give up after a day. Someone who uses "cus" and not sentences doesn't seem very professional. Nintendo won't just pick you out of the other million teenagers who "think they have the greatest game idea."

mayb u could start out with a small animal, and as he grows/evolves, he will gain more stuff. like he could sprout wings, or loke shoot laser beams outta his eyes... lol ....

ive talked to them about the ideas and stuff but im not claiming to be hired by them or that ive got the greatest game idea, I simply had an idea to make a game and ive contacted nitendo and asked questions about how i go about making it and they are supporting me. Ryan can you stop spamming loads of rubish and get on with your life pls? im lookin for ideas not critasism, just wait till youve seen the game b4 u add your opinions.

im actually 15, and my bro.. who is 20 and a professional at VB is doing the coding work... we got it all figured out and we have already created 2 cities.. we just need general ideas. And no its not just a dream it will be done

So do you want a kind of pokemon game? Or more like runescape, I would be happy to give some idea's and i'm interested in what the kinda of characters look like, could you post some? :P .

Maybe you can choose different helpers at the begining. Then determining on which helper you choose determines what monsters it can combine with.

Don't make it easy, don't turn it into runescape and have pay to play lol, also would u like me to demonstrate mythical, serious, or funny creatures???? lol i'm creative and quite "interesting"

We're sticking to the original plan of making it a unique game at the momemt im constantly updating the graphics and playability so if I finish a beta version of the game and basically everyone thinks its rubish id be happy to go back to square one and change it until its perfect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A lot of the inspiration came from runescape but as its a storyline game with 'gameboy' graphics it will most likely be along the line of fairytale with monsters and forests and not armour and weapons. Im thinking of making the guy you walk around with able to attack along with your monsters so this would introduce some sort of weapon system.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways keep the ideas coming, theyre coming in use as ive decided to make it so you can attack common animals like bears and wolfs to raise your monster's skill points. Only other players on multiplayer mode have customised monsters that you make yourself and other characters you fight have their own too to make the it a harder game.

sure, im going to college next septmeber to train to be an animator so maybe making a little game would help if I decide to be a game designer when im older but after University (hopefully) Ill be lookin to do cartoons. If its a hit id think of selling defininatly :) but i dont want to brag cus ive just started u know? ive not got much to show at the moment.
