Higher lvl f2p mage training

Featured Replies

I'm trying to lvl mage from 64 to 70. I currently have about 12k mind runes, and I am planning on making about 40k airs for 50 rc. However, I am having a hard time finding:

a) something to wear (this is f2p after all)

B) a place to do it.

I don't care about drops or anything else. Just the absolute fastest exp.

The rest of my stats are in my sig.

a) The best outfit is:

-blue wizard hat

-blue or black wizard robe

-monk bottom

-mage ammy

-leather gloves

-leather boots

-any elemental staff (fire for you since you got the minds and airs)

-anti dragon shield

B) My favourite place to train is the Moss Giants on Crandor, safe spot and decent drops.

Check out my Pocket Slot idea!

I prefer training magic on lesser demon on crandor, is pretty effective against them and some good drops (I know you say you don't care about drops but hey, it's a plus in my books.)

[spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011:

Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115

Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)

Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering - 85

I would go with the mossies. If the lessers start to hit you in that gear you will be toast in no time. At least with mossies you are safier when they start to hit you.

The Hobgoblins near the Crafting Guild provide decent Magic experience too. Just stand on the mainland across from the peninsula (near the cow pin) and shoot across the water at them. There's plenty of them, so you don't have to worry about waiting for respawns unless there's 3 or 4 other people there. Since you don't really care about drops you'll never have to leave that spot.

I think I've settled on lessers. I can cast 1k fire strikes an hour, and the drops aren't bad.

12k mind runes will get you to level 68.3

You will need another 6400 mind runes to reach 70

Or, you could do it with 11400 (failed) Curses instead of your 18400 mind runes.

I would suggest that you cast in a multicombat area so

that you will almost always have a target available.

(White knights, Varrock sewers, etc)

I always liked going after the Crandor Island lesser's

Hope this helps
