Good barrowing stats?

I'm just wondering, what are some good stats to do barrows using the slayer dart method using about 5 p pots per trip?

Heres what I had when I went first

 

 

 

-67 Hitpoints

 

 

 

-59 Mage (Fireblast)

 

 

 

-60 Ranged (Mage short, With rune arrows)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And the items were:

 

 

 

-6 Prayer Potions (4)

 

 

 

-Runes for spells

 

 

 

-Full Mystic

 

 

 

-Full Red D' Hide

 

 

 

-And the rest was sharks

at least 43 prayer... 80+ in all combat stats is highly recomended (upper 70s if ya want)

55 slayer and 50 mage (ignore the fireblast suggestion) for slayer dart... magic accuracy doesent affect the spell and you basicly 'recycle' runes

I would suggest at least the following stats (it can be done with lower stats, but you won't make profit).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

55 slayer - Probably the most important one if you want to make profit, you'll get all the runes back that you use.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

60+ magic - You need 50 for magic dart of slaying. Though I would suggest abit higher for hitting higher and more often.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

60+ range - Can be done quite good with 50 range too, but you'll need alot of prayer pots on Ahrim then. Way better to have at least 60 range. And always use rune arrows (addy if you really can't afford rune).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

60+ attack and strenght - Will allow you to use mellee on the monsters in the tunnels (to get kill count up) greatly saving on runes. (not needed if you only go for 6 kill count, only killing the 6 brothers).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

60 def - Absolutely needed to defend yourself from Verac (he hits through your prayer). Also needed to defend yourself from the monsters in the tunnels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

43++ prayer - You can't do it whitout 43 prayer. Though I would suggest to get at least 50 prayer to save abit on the prayer pots.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PS. With 68 def, and 56 prayer 72 mage and 72 range I usually use 1 and a half prayer pot each run. With 60 def/mage/range and 43 prayer you should easily be able to use les then 5 pots per trip.

What Sjake said will what I call bare minimum, however 5 prayer pots a trip is a lot for Barrows. I personally use only 1 dose a trip (though this is because I use a special method of slayer darting). A good barrower can narrow the p pot use to 4 doses a trip.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What i suggest:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mage 70+: Slayer dart would be cost effective from here on, and Mage penalty will be less on you. 80+ is highly recommended

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Contrary to popular believe, Slayer Dart IS affected by Mage Bonus. The reason for this popular believe is that the above spell is pratically used exclusively on Barrows and Dagganoth rex, boss monsters with pretty much the worst mage defence in the game, so the spell hits them well regardless of mage attack bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Though what is correct is this: +50 mage attack bonus at high mage is utterly useless, because you cant hit any better/

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Defence 80+: This will not only protect you from Verac, it will also allow you to kill Guthan and Torag without using prayer. Just use melee gear and dart away.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prayer 60+: Makes prayer pot more efficient

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ranged 70+: For Black hides or preferably Karil's Armor (better mage defence than hides, a good bit better)
