inferno_char
This is my first ever step-frame animation which is completely hand drawn, photographed then cleaned up on the pc. Rating? (-/10) Comments?

inferno_char
its nice for a first but i think the part where he brings out the axe and slices, is too slow I know what you mean the chop action should of been swifter, its difficult to tell though when I was drawing it on a whiteboard. terley
haha very nice, I love seeing frame by frame animation, its the only way to go imo. some parts do seem a bit iffy but the bulk of it is very promising.. Id suggest storyboarding your general plot before hand, even with something so simple, sketch out different angles, work out how long you want each movement to take.. Just basically break down your animation into easy to handle chunks.. I did something similar morthing a doll into a green glass-bottle, it took a few weeks to do and the end result was only 20 seconds long .. Cartoons are much quicker to animate haha. nice work though, keep it up.
Darrel104
How do you get it to go smoothly bettween frames with sketching each frame out?
inferno_char
Thanks terley, this was only a quick project for college and I personally wasn't fond of the whole drawing it out thing so I doubt I'll make a second, at least not anytime soon. Like you said its very time consuming. How do you get it to go smoothly bettween frames with sketching each frame out? By making gradual changes to the drawing. I should point out this was done entirely on a whiteboard with drywipe marker pens.
