YournameHere
Shading? How do I do it? Should I just change the hue every time or what?
Terry
download a plugin for photoshop called ShadeMaster 2004. it scans the screen automatically, determines the shading required, and all you have to do is paint/pencil in your stuff. the plugin will automatically change colors to adjust for shading as you draw. Greatsilverwyrm
If you want to do it real, you need ShadePro 8.0, it's a program that ties-in with photoshop, like an advanced plugin.
Terry
I tried that once, but I found it took a lot of my computers resources. not enough ram I guess.

Greatsilverwyrm
Well, you asked a really broad question, and gave the impression you wanted a quick answer, which there is none. Try to refine your question a bit... What program are you/do you plan on using? Have you ever done any shading off the computer? Do you know what shading is? Greatsilverwyrm
Well, if you know how to shade with a pencil, or paints, or whatever in real life, as long as you have at least a basic understanding of the program, shading isn't hard. Greatsilverwyrm
That really depends, just expiriment until you get something that you think looks right.
YournameHere
Whatever....I'll just play around or something....i need someone to make a tutorial just for shading
Greatsilverwyrm
You can't learn everything from a tutorial. For some reason people don't seem to grasp that art cannot be acheived through a formula.
YournameHere
Not a tutorial....I just want someone to zoom in on something simple, and let me see how it was shaded.
Terry
dude, honestly, its not that hard. go grab a pencil and a piece of paper. scribble across from one side of the paper to another, but pressing light on one side, slowly pressing harder as you get across to the other. congratulations, you have just gone from light to dark. this is called shading. now open up photoshop, or whatever you are doing (pixel work?). start off with a dark or light color, I like dark first, and color in what you want. then slowly go over parts of it, making it lighter and lighter, simply by changing the color to a lighter one. why would you need a tutorial on this? tttia
lol oiler, there are no shading programs. Anyway, thanks keiphus, saved me from posting it myself :) Check out the brush shading. It will give you basic concepts which you can apply to both pixel and to brushing. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=87976
